big figs

Do any of you collect big figs? I just bought a few. My daughter's bat mitzvah is in two years and she just decided the theme would be Disney. I like it already! We saw the big figs last week while we were on vacation. I wanted to purchase them and use them as centerpieces and afterwards keep a few special ones and donate the rest to like children's hospitals etc. Anyone know how often new ones come out or if they ever go on sale? I just bought Elvis Stitch for just over $100 including shipping. I'd love to find more around $100-125. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

I'd check disneyshopping.com and disneygallery.com
I personally don't collect big figs,my mom would kill me . I think they're pretty neat though. It's a great idea to use them as center pieces.

Personally, I would KILL for that life-sized Jessica Rabbit figure that Disneyshopping.com sells. But I just can't justify the $1,500 price tag!

I love the big figures and remember when they were only $100 each.

I was very lucky and was able to get some at the Disney Stores when they were open for $39.00 plus my discount, as I worked there.

One of favorites is Band Leader Mickey - it was an disney auction item.

If you know any cast members at Disney World, they actually have these available alot at the Cast Connection.

Good luck with your search and I think Disney is a wonderful theme to have.

I love Big Figs! We have the Tourist Stitch and a Thumper. I would love to have more, but we just haven't seen anything that we really just feel that we have to have for the price. I think the Jessica Rabbit and Jack Sparrow life size Figs are just amazing, but the price tag is just too much for me. I would be willing to pay about a 1/3 of what they are asking, but I don't expect to see that sale. I do wish that I could find a really cool looking Timon & Pumbaa.....but so far, I haven't seen that they make one. Maybe one day. Maggie

We have a Captn Hook, that we bought a few years ago at one of the Disney outlet mall stores.
And we have Maleficent thought I bought last year on sale too.
I have seen others on sale for decent prices. But none I really just had to have. They are pretty big and I rather collect those I really like.
If I ever saw the Jessica on sale, I would buy her. (Not life size --- but the typical big fig size.) She's been available for awhile, so I keep thinking she will go on sale.

big figs are awesome...but I don't know where I'd keep a collection of them (that space is already occupied by my snowglobe collection!)
I do have the Grumpy Big Fig (for DH) and Disneyland Castle all blinged out for the 50th. That was DH's 5th wedding gift to me. He said "How about when we go down this weekend, you pick your own present" (i never loved him more!)
I would love to get the Auctioneer Big Fig...I love that one, don't know if it is even still out!

The Uncle Sam Mickey Disney shopping is offering now is pretty nice ! I really want the red shorts Mickey but he's hard to find now. I've read that they are going to start making them just a little bit smaller so it will be easier for people to display them.

We love the big figs & grab some when they're at a nice price. We got the Pirate Mickey{I forget the price}. Our last trip in January they had the combo figure of Mickey as Capt Hook & Minnie as the Evil Queen {apparently piece 1 of 3 I believe. I know another one coming out later this year I believe is Goofy as Chernabog. I forget the third}. It was normal price at the beginning of our trip{$150 or something.} A few days later it was $75! We snatched it up. It's awesome! We also have the Mayor from NBC figure.

I love the big figs too. My favorite one is Mickey and Minnie Shipmates from Disney Cruise Line.

I have started looking at a few Big Figs. At the pirates event I almost bought the LE Helmsman, but passed. Instead we got the Black Pearl. Very nice detail on the ship.

This past weekend we got the Mickey Jedi from the Star Wars event, and will likely get the other 3 SW characters as they are just awesome. The Darth Goofy is the best.

Now to figure out how to display them.

I love the big figs. I have the Jedi Mickey, IceskatEAR Mickey (designed by Paul Wylie), DL 50th Anniversary Minnie, and DL 50th Anniversary Mickey. I purchased the latter three for under $100 each. And considering getting the X-Wing Pilot Mickey for my b-day.

We got the Life Size Mickey a year or more ago. We love him. But I can't believe any others are being sold on ebay. It's like it never happened. If I didn't have the Life Size Mickey on display in my house, I wouldn't have believed they were ever for sale. They are just non existant.

We also have the Mickey big fig. It was purchased about 4 years ago. Mickey in the red shorts, yellow shoes.

I have the Goofy pin trader from the september event in 2004. I had him next to the front door. And one dau as hubby came in he bumped him and knocked him off his stand. And he is now minus one hand. It was a clean break, but I have no idea how to repair it. If anyone knows, do please share. I have no idea what he is made of, so I have no idea what to purchase to stick his hand back on.

Oh and I also have a big fig of POOH with Tigger on his tummy. I got him at a character premier in Orlando for about $35. Love it!!! I just wish I had gotten Fred Steamboat Willie before they retired him.
