There would be nothing wrong with offering a special pass for onsite guest. Yes, they already have perks, but those perks are now being offered by other Resorts. Disney needs to stay ahead of the curve if it wants to survive. WDW is a very expensive place to run. ----I couldnt even imagine the utility billLOL
The FP system isnt broken, but it is not an exclusive perk. My father decided to stay onsite in August of 2000 because he was misinformed about FP being for guest only. I have even heard a kid in the park say hey, that kid with a regular ticket just got a FP This just shows that people staying on site want something exclusive. And why not, they did make it a point to stay on site, which is what Disney wants.
I think giving the impression that you are getting something special, when it is really available to everyone, is the way Disney will capitalize on FP.
I think they will offer a special fast pass for resort guest only and leave the regular fast pass machines up and running. When you get to the attraction, there will be a set of FP machines for resort guest and non-resort guess. I dont think it actually adds a real benefit, but it gives the impression of one, so it is cheaper than actually inventing, funding and implementing a new benefit. Think of the time, money, and effort put forth for ME
