Big Brother 8 *Spoiler* Thread

This week, it will come down to whether or not Eric takes his role as "America's Player" seriously. Most likely, he will get instructions to vote out Dustin. If he is honest with Jess, he can tell her that he decided to vote out Dustin. Then, he can influence her to agree that it would be best. Zach needs confirmation from Jess that it is ok to vote to keep Dick. He made a deal with her to vote what she wants to avoid going up as the replacement (a deal he did not even need) . Jen does not want Dustin in the house either, so if she knew there was a real chance of Dustin going, she would for sure vote to keep ED. Again, it is all up to Eric!! If he makes no effort to sway votes for Dick, ED is a goner.

BUT Eric has a choice to complete the tasks. HE does not have to do them. He gets big money for completeing so many tasks.

But Eric is NOT given the chance to override America's choice for his eviction vote, if it is even America's vote, and not the producers vote. We have no way of knowing if the "vote" is legitmate, or simply a tool for the producers to impact the outcome. Thus it isn't any more of a "game" than a scripted, taped soap opera.

Do you know that for sure? I was under the impression that he chose to go along. Not that he had to.

He is never asked on the live votes, nor is he given a chance on the live votes, to vote for someone else. Julie Chen just says that America voted for XYZ and Eric goes to the diary room to make it LOOK like he is casting a vote.

I realize that. I assumed it was because he had already discussed with the producers that he would vote with for America's choice. :confused3

how is eric going to squirm out of this one (for this week's votes) - if it goes like i hope it does, there should be 2 votes for ED to leave (amber and jameka) and 4 votes for Dustin to leave (Dani, Jen, Zack and Eric)

there'd be a lot of finger pointing then....

won't the look on Dustin's face be priceless??!!

one can only hope....

I was going to say the same. He can't choose who he wants to vote out.

What Eric needs to do is one of 2 things...
1) have Jess get Zach to vote to keep Dustin, tell Jess he's voting to get rid of Dustin, to have a tie. And tell all of them...they even talked about making it a tie to make it look like the group is splitting. That would be his best chance.

2) If he knows theres no way to save Dustin (ie 4-2 vote to evict him) he should talk to Jess and say, its time for us to split with the group...I'm going to play both sides and make a deal w/ED/Danielle to get rid of Dustin and be on their side. But he needs to let Jess know ahead of time, and still stay in it with her.

Just my opinion.

Okay. I took the above straight from the cbs/big brother website. I says he must complete each task. So, he doesn't have a choice when it comes to eviction.

Thanks for that. I'm still reading it to mean that he must do these to get paid. :lmao:

The Joker website is reporting that Eric streaked throught the BY. Jess missed it and is mad that she missed it.

Morty's is too. Apparently only a few people "got" to see it.

I don't think the votes are considered a "task", whereas getting someone nominated or not speaking IS a task. Otherwise that amounts to paying someone for their vote. I think CBS is treading on dangerous legal ground there, like the $64,000 Question debacle many years ago.

I also like how Amber had a "vision" that she is going to win HOH and in her vision ED was there and she just can't figure out how he would be there when she wins when he is leaving this week.
She is really starting to believe that this vision is really going to happen lol

(Hi there, new to this thread)

Chuck, this is what I've been telling my wife all along this season.

Also today I was skimming through BB8 live feed clips on Youtube and saw one where Jess & Jen were complaining about how the questions the producers ask the houseguests in the diary room are extremely leading, even to the point of giving out inside information. I know I shouldn't be shocked by this because I pretty much assumed, but still... Also another conversation between Dani and Jen where Dani revealed the producers told her in the diary room that a twist was coming in week 7.

I still like the show, but this season feels more contrived to me than any other so far.

He should do this no matter what. But wait until the last day as to not give ED time to start trouble. He should make up with ED by telling him that he does really like him and want him around. You know, lie. Tell ED that he's working behind the scenes to save him and there's a chance. That way if ED stays he may feel indebted. At lest that's how I would play it.

I was thinking the same thing. He really needs to get on Dick's good side, since it looks like he has to vote out Dustin.

I guess the ratings must really suck this year if the players are discussing how leading the producers are being. I don't remember that ever being said before on prior shows.

I just also wanted to thank everyone here who are watching the live feeds and filling us in:thumbsup2
