Let me say that I have never considered myself a country music fan, though by default I am often subjected to it as my husband and kids like it.

Last night we went to a Big and Rich concert. They wanted to go. I didn't.

It was AWESOME! What a great show. I am officially a convert! :thumbsup2

i love Big and Rich. but my country music loving friends call it hick-hop and not really country at all. in fact they consider them an insult.

Big & Rich aren't your typical country musicians. They are different and unconventional. I never really liked them, but they have grown on me a little. My two favorite songs by them are 8th of November (so sad!) and Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy. They seem like they'd put on a really good concert though, very high energy.

I have seen Big & Rich in concert and it was fantastic. The Muzik Mafia is some very taleneted musicians supporting them. I don't consider Big & Rich to be country country but the new country that is becoming popular. At our house its called popcountry.

I like Big & Rich. I love all kinds of music, though, from Merle Haggard to Pink. A lot of country music lovers don't like the turn that country music has taken, which I get...and Big & Rich are their poster children.

As long as there is variety in country and it isn't all pop, I'm all for it. Every other kind of music evolves...and so has country. But there is still a very personal, rooted side to country music that no other kind of music has. :) But it isn't all "I've Got Tears in My Ears From Lying on My Back in My Bed as I Cry Over You." (yup, that was a real song.)

Big & Rich aren't traditional country music stars, but no way their non-PC antics would fly out there in the pop world. So, I'm happy they have a home in country music. And I'm glad to have 'em. :)

He was there, too! I thought he was great.
Lucky. Cowboy Troy is cool

Big & Rich are awesome. You should try Gretchen Wilson's music. She's my favorite. Big & Rich met her when she was singing in a bar. She got her record deal because of them and the Muzik Mafia.

I went to a Big and Rich concert last month and it was great! I even caught a tshirt that the shot out of one of those air cannons! It was so fun! what a great show they put on. And I liked Cowboy Troy too. Save a horse, ride a cowboy!

I fell in love with the song "8th of November." I hope that I can go to one of Big & Rich's concerts!

I like em as long as I dont have to look at them. the guy with the weird hats just looks 'stupid' to me.

LOL! I don't find Big Kenny very attractive either but John Rich (the guy who wears the cowboy hat)=HOT!! :bitelip:

I've been to 2 of their concerts and loved both of them. I've been a huge fan of theirs since they released their first single a few years ago.

Seen them twice with Gretchen Wilson each time. The last time we went we were in the 4th row. Cowboy Troy was there too and the rest of the muzik mafia.

They are not traditional country, but I like them. I like the old stuff too.
A guy on the radio was interviewing Hank Williams Jr. the other day, and he said "You know some people don't like Big & Rich, claiming they are not really country, but when you were singing way back when, they said you were too rock & roll for them. But now they are giving you Horizon awards etc." He said " I think there's room for everybody in country music"

I never listen to country and had not heard of them. One night I saw them on TV and was very impressed with the whole package. They are entertaining and I would like to see them in concert!

I thought I was going to open the thread to find big and rich people to make friends with :teeth:

I'm glad you enjoyed the concert :thumbsup2

 Big and Rich got second in the top 20 countdown in CMT. (For 8th of November)

DH didn't exactley care for them, he always thougth Brooks and Dunn were the best.... Until we took DS (8) to see them for his birthday. He told me they were a class act and put on a great show and he would go see them again. He has seen them twice since.

They are not traditional country, but non the less they are still good at what they do. I think the sound they bring is refreshing. So much country sounds alike anymore. I like the fact that they play the sound that they believe in and don't stray from that. I AM A COUNTRY MUZIK FAN.. that is pretty much all everyone in our house listens too.
