We ate here Aug 3,2009 for dinner with a 6ish ADR.
I was a little hesitant because I am NOT a fan of sausage, and the like but I was pleasantly surprised. The entertainment was EXTREMELY enjoyable. I am not German but I grew a deep respect for the entertainers as they were very talented! My husband is German and I wanted my kids to see the culture. They had a great time!
The food was really good even though I went in not expecting to eat much. We were seated upfront right next to the stage.
We were the first to sit at the table and had a lovely family of 3 from New Orleans sit with us! My DS(7) had a blast talking sports with thier father.
I managed to fill three kid's bellies. At first DS(7) ate only an apple and then went back up to "try new things" as we encourage with our kids to try at each meal, especially in WDW! He ended up going up for thirds! My DH was in his glory as German food is one of his favorites.
The setting was nice, a little on the dark side, but pleasant, like sitting outside on a pleasant evening...such a break from the BRIGHT FLORIDA SUN:3dglasses.
By the end of the meal, I got a plate with each dessert and we each had a sliver to divide among the 5 of us to "try something new". That was fun and then the one that was your fav we could go back up and get 1 of them. The kids really liked this part:cool1:
My DH really liked the gallon of beer that he got:drinking1 adn the one that followed too! :lmao:
We really enjoyed this dining experience! If you haven't yet, you've got to try it and be ready to be entertained by the talent! I loved the ringing of the bells, my kids liked the wooden xylophone!

Thanks for the review. Biergarten is one of our favorites...and so glad you enjoyed it too.

So glad you liked it! I haven't eaten there in YEARS (family doesn't enjoy it) but I've been dying to go back. I hear such mixed reviews that your positive review makes me want to sneak away and try it solo. :)

We had a similar experience in June. As a party of 10, we didn't know how we'd be seated since most tables are for 8, but they found us one in front by the stage that was for 10 and it was wonderful! Entertainment was great, and I even got to dance a polka with my 7-year-old niece!! Great food, friendly CM's, and terrific entertainment!!:thumbsup2

We went a few years ago and LOVED it! We went at Christmas time. The entertainment was family orientated. My son (6 at the time) had a blast!!!

We are debating going there again, or trying a different country/character dining.

we went about 4 yrs ago and LOVED the entertainment but thought the food had room for improvement (I grew up on LOTS of german food!)

we are trying it again this trip -9/5- 9/13 -for DH's bday because I heard that they "re-did" some of the menu and the food has supposedly improved.
DH chose this as his b-day celebration because of A) the festive atmosphere and B) the BEER! :goodvibes

just hope i am not dissapointed in the food again! (will report back!)

Thanks for the review. We are considering booking the Biergarten for a late lunch in early December as part of a Candlelight Processional package. And not just because it is the cheapest, we really want to try it! DH loves German food (spent lots of time on temporary duty in Germany while in the AF), and I enjoy it as well. Our 18 year old daughter is very picky, but willing to try things, so buffets are up her alley. She won't starve, even if she finds only a couple things she really likes, and she has the opportunity to try some things she has never had before, without the "commitment" of ordering a whole serving somewhere! We are looking forward to it.

Thanks for the review. I made a reservation at the Biergarten for my husband's birthday lunch on November 7. We haven't eaten there since 1986 and what I mostly remember about it is that DH was sick as a dog the rest of the night, probably because he ate everything from our plates that the rest of us couldn't finish. Back then it wasn't a buffet, at least I don't think it was.

Love this place. We go here every time we're at Disney. As someone who is from Milwaukee, WI, I can say this is very good food.

I am booking a lunch ADR here for our December trip and heard a rumor that the entertainment doesn't start until 1:15pm. Is this true??? I wanted to eat earlier than that, but wouldn't dare do it without the show!

I was reluctant to make this ADR but did it anyway for my father and my husband. I was really surprised too how much I enjoyed it! We had one of the best servers, my youngest son was celebrating his birthday and she brought him out a card signed just by her and a gingerbread man cookie.

Glad to hear such a great review! We are planning to eat at Biergarten during our trip next August... I love German food, DF is hesitant- but he loves beer so I think he'll be ok:lmao: Thanks:thumbsup2
