I have reservations but am having second thoughts. It sounds like a fun place but I am concerned my kids will be too picky. I read the menu on the Deb site and it doesn't sound like there are many choices on the buffet. I know that they will eat the chicken, but I didn't recognize anything else! Are all the food choices listed? Would my big teenage kids be able to eat off the kids buffet? Thanks!

All Buffets are anyone can eat anything and any amount of anything...so yes....relax...and go and enjoy the meal and entertainment...your "big teenage kids" can eat anything they want in any quantity they want!
PS....so can you!

Don't be afraid of the Biergarten. I promise when you're there you'll see a lot of things you recognize... mac 'n cheese, chicken fingers, potato salad, pretzel bread (it's heavenly that), hot dog-type sausages, mashed potato balls, veggies, roast beef, the works! :thumbsup2 And lest we forget... apple strudel and black forest cake. Yummy.

while the side dishes are German to an extent, most of the meats are more"normal"( pork, roasted chicken, sausages) i'm used to German food but nothing is weirdly/exotically spiced ( maybe saurkraut if you hate it) and most is probably familiar unless you have never heard of any German food.

Took all 3 kids, youngest 10 and VERY picky and he was fine. I agree you can relax with this one.

My dd4 loved it..She ate all kinds of sausages. Now the family that was sitting next to us had teenagers and they seemed to be a bit more picky!

Don't worry about it, it's great! I think there are also some basic kids choices on the buffet. Enjoy!

The kids' choices here, I have to admit, are pretty limited compared to other buffets. My girls like hot dogs and macncheese. We saw neither there. There was some sort of cheese-covered noodle thing similar to macncheese but it tasted very different to my oldest DD and she wouldn't eat it. She's not a meat-eater, except for hot dogs, which they didn't have. She pretty much didn't eat while we were there, except for a couple of rolls.

As for older kids, though, I don't see why they couldn't eat off the regular buffet. For kids who are more used to adult fare, like teens, there are lots of choices. It's just the kids 7 or so and younger who might not see much they like there.

My girls are 7 and 9 and they loved Biergarten. They ate until they stuffed themselves and danced with the other kids and entertainers. They have asked to go back. My kids are willing to try new things. If you have a super picky eater then let them eat dessert. You are on vacation! I have always taken my kids to different restaurants and they always find something.

It's a fabulous restaurant with a great mix of the familiar and the exotic. I got to admit that I wasn't lining up for the pig knuckles, but I couldn't get enough of the spaetzle. I have no doubt your kids will find plenty to fill their bellies.

We have been going to the Biergarten for years, even when my now teenage DD was a very picky toddler. Back then, she did enjoy the cheeses from the cheese platter (at the salad bar), plain salad, pretzel rolls, roast chicken, mac & cheese, applesauce and vanilla pudding. It has always been one of her favorite places and now she eats practically everything and is a lot less picky.

I asked my DD (5) last night where she wants to eat when we go in December and she immediately said "The Polka Place". It's been 2 years since we ate there but she still remembers it. She loved the food, especially the sausages and hot dogs (she's a real carnivore!) and LOVED the entertainment.

I loved the big mugs of German beer...

Take your kids, they'll love it. There's so much German food embedded in our American culture that it won't seem as strange as some of the other restaurants in World Showcase.
