Biergarten Show

I know that the show at the Biergarten occurs at 7PM and 8PM, but I have heard that the 8PM show is not as good or long as the earlier shows, doesn't include the horn, things like that. There is an open ADR on Nov 18th, the night we want to eat there for 6:30 or 6:45PM, which is better if we want to watch the show while eating?

Last time we ate at 6:30pm and stayed so long we watched the show twice. When we sat down our waiter said "Today we are going to have fun. We will not rush you out, so take your time. Parents, I don't want to hear you tell your kids to be quiet. If the other people don't like it they can leave." I haven't had as much fun at any place. We were there for two hours. Haha sounds like a good time. I've never eaten there but if the food and beer is as good as it sounds, I'll stay there all night! How long did you wait to be seated? Were you seated right before the show started or did you have time to get something to eat before the show? We just don't want to miss the show if we choose the 6:45 and then aren't seated in time.

I think we were 10 mins late getting seated. We had our food and were half done (the first plate ha ha) before the show started. The food was really good. I wasn't sure about this ADR but my Dad wanted it. There was 8 of us and this was the favorite meal for everyone. The boys left a little tipsy from the good German beer. I'm sure you will have a great time.

I would schedule a reservation for approx 30 minutes before show time. That way if you have to wait 20 minutes to be seated like I did, you'll still have enough time to get at least 1 plate of food before the show.

I was there in May for the last seating and loved it. The show lasted for about 30 minutes.

This is one of our favorites and definitely our very favorite "fun meal".

I'd suggest the 6:30, just in case they're running late. Like 2 Little Mermaids, we saw the show twice on our last trip, but missed about 10 minutes of the first one because of how our ADR landed (we were seated basically on time, but the ADR was for 6:05 so the show was in progress).

This is one of the few restaurants where I have never felt rushed at all. They were packed, but seats were constantly opening up and being reseated. I suspect the group-seating format makes it easier to keep things moving, as they don't have to wait for a full table to open before seating the next group, and hence less incentive to shoo people along.

My DD5 absolutely loved being able to dance. She's been doing ballet since she could walk, so it warmed my heart to watch her try her ballet moves to the polka music!

Can anyone confirm that the 8:00 show is not as 'good' as the earlier ones? I have an ADR for 7:30 and am wondering if I should change it to catch an earlier show? I'd really like to keep the 7:30 if the 'show' is the same though!

Haha I asked the same thing when I first read it on a thread entitled Biergarten lunch or dinner http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2481601

Two people said that this was the case the last time they were there. We'd rather eat later too but really want to see the show.

We just ate there 6/1/10. We were seated by 6:55 and watched the first show and then stayed to watch the one for 8pm. We did not notice any difference in the two shows.

We saw 2 different shows (although not the late one) and they were both different. I don't think one was better than the other, just different.

In the first one, they brought out the horns, but in the second one, they did the saw and bells.

I'm not sure if they have set "set lists" for each show or if they just alternate.

I read somewhere that beer is included in the price of the meal. Today is final budget day! And I can't find that thread again!

Help! Is beer included in cost or additional when on dining plan for this meal?

I'm asking because I've seen 3 menus now, and each state that beverages are included but no cost of alcoholic beverage is stated on any menu or review I've seen.

*sigh* Fine OOP beer. Maybe I'm mixing this up with HDD then!

Any idea of alcoholic drink cost? I want german beer with the show

Yay! We've got a 5:30 ADR and there's a show at 5:55! Looks like I chose a good time...

Also interested in the cost of beer...beer flights, that large tankard of beer?
