Biergarten on your birthday?

I hear they make you either do the polka or play with the oompa band -- anyone ever done a birthday at the Biergarten who can shed some light on this?

No eatery will "make" you do anything. We've been there on several occasions and have witnessed birthdays being celebrated but none had anything to do with the show. You should call ahead and ask what celebrations they will do for you. That way you can plan one that the honored guest will feel comfortable with.

We were there for my DS's 8th birthday. The waitresses brought him a cake and sang Happy Birthday to him in German. The Oompa Band saluted him and the whole restaurant drank to his birthday. He loved it! I got the feeling that not many kids celebrate his birthday there. The waitress really wanted him to feel special.
