DH and I are going to Disney in December and we are going to eat at Biergarten. We cant wait. I just wanted to know how it worked out for only 2 people to go. I know we will sit at a table of 8 so we will be with other people. But are we all sat at the same time? when we do sit when we get up to get food has anything happend to your spot. or once you sit people know tis your seat?

Nothing is going to happen to your seat. You will have a waitress who will bring you drinks, clear your dirty plates and bring the bill at the of the meal. We were a party of three and were seated with a family of 5. We were all seated at the same time. I think they try to seat a complete table at once so people won't spread out and leave random empty seats.

You will all be seated at same time so everyone will know it is your seat. You will likely be sat across from one another at the table.

My husband and I had lunch at the Biergarten last November. We were seated with 6 others: a woman and her 3 very well behaved kids and a gentleman and his mother. We had a great time, our tablemates were friendly but not overly so, and we were very comfortable with sharing a table. We were all seated at the same time and although some finished their lunch first and left, their seats weren't given to anyone else during our meal.

Dh and I went to Biergarten just the two of us and we had such a blast... the other family we sat with was great fun too! You will have a blast!

You will be fine. We have been there twice for lunch as a party of 3. The first time we were seated with a party of 5. I think we smiled at each other once but that's all, simply because they were having a very good time among themselves and we were also talking together (and eating...and eating....and eating....).

The second time we were seated with a young married couple and a woman with 2 small children. The woman was mostly busy with the kids (who were very well behaved) but we ended up having very pleasant conversation with the other couple about different places to eat.

Both times one waitress served the entire table so she kept track of drinks, clearing plates, and bills. People got up at different times to get food and more food, and it was never a problem. The parties each left at different times too, but no one else was seated at the table until everyone was gone and the table could be completely cleaned, not just cleared.

Decided to try here for lunch LY during FD. It was the 2 of us (MommaBear and I). We were sat at the same time with two other couples and a single. The single was wasting time until she got the call that her room was ready over at YC. So she ate and scurried away, not really socializing.

But the other two couples were fantastic! We had great conversation and really enjoyed ourselves. One pair was local to the area, the other couple was from Germany here for a month long vacation (or is it holiday? :confused3).

I was concerned how MommaBear would be with "strangers" but she loved every minute of it and we stayed long enough for two rounds of tic-e-tack-e Oy-oy-oy!

The food was amazing and pretty close to authentic (according to our German table guests). I think you will enjoy yourselves, just go with the flow!

My DW and I ate here in March we were seated with another couple and a party of four. We were all seated at the same time.

I sincerely wish they'd add two top tables, maybe off to the sides with less desirable vantage points vis-à-vis viewing the show, to this place. If they did, my wife and I would jump at the chance to eat at this place nearly any chance we could get. As it is now, well, we've eaten there once (lunch), and were seated next to a couple of middle aged German men who weren't thrilled to have strangers joining them mid-meal, and a single mom and her two kids. We smiled at the mom, were roundly ignored by the older men (which was fine with us, as we, too, despise dining with strangers; the only difference was, I believe, that we knew what the seating situation was going in), and kept the conversation between the two of us to a bare minimum. And we've had no desire to go back since, as our disdain for the seating arrangements trumps our genuine love for the food served there every time.

1) Yep, you will sit with others.
2) They try to seat a table-full close to each other, timewise.
3) Don't worry about sometone taking your seat when you get up. *

* If you think someone will take your chair,
. . . casually mention that "it" isn't contagious
. . . sneeze into a napkin and put it in your place
. . . spill something gross on the table

Thank you all. I cant not wait to go we will be eating there December 16th I cant wait.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. We'll be having lunch there again on November 16th. Be sure to try the potato leek soup and pretzel rolls (if you like that sort of thing), delicious!

Hm.. Thats weird because Germans are supposed to be known to share long "drinking" tables. Hofbrauhaus is known for the long tables and all the Germans were friendly when we were there. Maybe the didn't understand English. Two tops would be nice but the long tables are authentic German! It was a little weird at first but then it got fine.

By the way my boyfriend and I were sat on each side sitting across from each other. I think I may have liked it better that way than sitting next to each other.

The first time I ate at Biergarten, my DH and I were on a kid-less trip. We left them home with their grandparents. We were sat at the end of the table, across from each other. The family we were sat with had a grandfather visiting from Germany. We had such a wonderful time!!

My husband and I sat across from each other and were seated with another couple, then a family of 4. We all talked, and drank, and ate, and talked and drank, and ate... when we all got ready to leave a massive thunderstorm hit so we all continued to talk and have fun for about 30 minutes before realizing the wind and rain was NOT going to let up and we all took a run for it all the way across EPCOT! We had a blast!
