Has anyone done this? Any suggestions on how to get swan/dolphin when bidding? Do you use priceline hotwire? Please help and on rates!

It's funny your subject line is Bidding on Travel because I use Biddingfortravel.com to plan my strategy. I've gotten MCO Hyatt for $37 per night and I'm looking to book our last night there this Jan. As for the Swan/Dolphin, here's the scoop I got:

Which of the amenities does the Dolphin have on the Hotwire list and how many stars is it? What's the best way to know if the resort their showing really IS the Dolphin before taking it? Thanks!

In the Walt Disney World area:
4* Dolphin
Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business, Golf, Tennis, Laundry
(NOTE: thru Hotel Product, these amenities are the same as those for the Swan, so you could get either one)

Make sure you only have the Walt Disney World area checked. Also only the 4* checked.
The amenities must match exactly. Only the ones listed and no others. Plus none of the ones above can be missing

Good luck, because it's still not a lock.

The Swan/Dolphin should come up with customer reviews (it did a while ago), and you can tell by the description that it's the s/d. They always talk about the nice white bedding and the hotel location.

And the Swan/Dolphin have NOT been coming up much lately.

On Priceline you have no way of knowing what you are getting. So you need to be sure you can live with any of the options.

Bill, I'm not sure how biddingfortravel.com works but what would the minimum bid they would accept?

Biddingfortravel.com is an independent site with a lot of info on which hotels are in which 'neighborhood', star rating, ameneties and such. The best part is the forum where folks list bids that have been accepted and rejected, at what price and the hotel that accepted. Here is where I saw people getting the MCO Hyatt for $37 early this year, so I took 2!
