I really wish they would put BBB reservations online like they do for almost everything else. I dont know why they do it for dining and special events like firework dessert parties and such, but not for BBB/PL/Pirate & Pal Cruise/etc.

Me too, would make things a lot easier. Also wish it would show up under reservations on MDE

Day 1: Let the Fun Begin!

Our first stop was by mandate of Squeaks, whose favorite vacation activities include shopping, swimming, and seeing animals.

We stopped in the hotel shop because she insisted that she wanted to pin trade on this vacation. She picked a starter lanyard which featured 2 pins of Minnie & her kitty Figaro. Kitties are Squeaks's very favorite animal, so this was clearly a win. I also got the character cupcake pack so she had more than one pin she wouldn't mind trading for.

Squared away, we set off for Disney's California Adventure. Remember how I mentioned that Squeaks loves animals? Well this translates to a love for Zootopia, and our trip wouldn't be complete without meeting Judy Hoops & Nick Wilde. DH & I were kids in SoCal, but neither of us had ever been to California Adventure. We took a starter right than we needed to at the fountain and took a scenic route to where we were headed, but it was best to see the park.

The characters weren't it when we got to their spot, but the line for Ariel's Undersea Adventure looked good, so we decided to give it a go. The line is not nearly as immersive as it is at WDW, just some seashellish shapes in the concrete sidewalk, but the entrance is great.

I'm so impressed with the painting. The light looks so real. Plus, I love the Little Mermaid, so. I was excited. I had Squeaks guess what color seashell we'd get, and she went for pink. I guessed yellow. We got teal...so I guess DH won by default?
I cracked up, I realize this is part off the ride at WDW, too, and that meant I saw it 2 years ago, but I didn't notice it until this ride...look at Flounder's face!

Poor fish. We've all been there in our youth, Flounder. Give her a wrong number & run.
Make sure you leave your drink with Ariel if you've got to go to the restroom.

After the ride, we checked out the Ariel store on the corner across the way. Squeaks traded a pin with the cast members. I noted the cute squirter toys I could pick up for our baby niece. It's a great stop if you have an Ariel fan. Then I noticed our friend was outside!

It's official, we crossed off one of Squeaks's must-dos. We promised Nick we didn't bring fox repellant before we got our hugs. The cast member said Chief Bogo had Nick & Judy on a super secret case and she was catching up on paperwork. I thought Squeaker would be disappointed, but she loved the story and retold it to everybody for the rest of the trip. Hey, works for me. Nick also noticed Squeaks's "I'm going to be a big sister!" Celebration pin and was very excited for us. It was a great M&G.
