I heard bbb no longer uses heavy product and went all natural anyway

Not sure what you mean when you say heavy product? When DD went a few years ago the color choices were soft colors and the gel for the hair was surprisingly easy to brush out.

I have a backup at disney springs for the night we arrive but I just felt the castle was more special.

I personally wouldn't do arrival night - try and get a morning appt even at DS and let her enjoy the attention she'll get being all fancied up :)

@Eriboo3 Don't fret if you end up having to go to Disney Springs. We couldn't get an appointment in the castle either when we were there Nov/15 and our experience in DS was still very magical. We had our appt and then ate at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella and crew. My daughter didn't feel like she'd 'missed out' at all. She was thrilled with her makeover and never once said she wished she could've been in the castle instead. I'm sure your daughter will love her experience in either location!! Just look at this smile!!

 Adorable! :)

BBB at DS is pretty fabulous too. Last trip kiddo did both and tbh my kiddo much preferred our fairy godmother in training there way more than the one in the castle. There is also the Pirate's League mermaid package which always rocks. They're all fun. 180+10 and free dining means things fill up quickly. There may be cancellations, but you'll need to be very time flexible with your plans if something does open up. Good luck!

They stopped using the gel. Now it's just water I believe. And no spray. That's what people have told me from the past month or so.

My DD has been to both locations - yes she enjoyed being in the castle but had a fantastic experience at Disney Spring location - I would recommend both. We only go to the one in MK as we eat at Cindys castle right afterwards

I would agree with previous posters, I would not do arrival day, it's too much

This past summer I noticed the difference in the products - it lasted only a day. When we first started going five years ago, they used a gel that was like a shellac - that bun lasted our whole trip! So yes bring your own spray & gel

That's unfortunate. We did Pirates League this year instead (so we don't have recent experience) but one of the great things about the styles at BBB was that they last a few days. Too bad they don't let you choose. I'm sure some people prefer natural but not everyone. Lacquer them up, I say! :duck:

Hm that's interesting - without longer hair some of those hairstyles will be near impossible
They frizz and fall out pretty much within 1-3 hours in the Florida sun now. It's super disappointing. And Disney is using the whole 'we are still using some product, but the hairstyles are only supposed to last that same day anyways' excuse when you email and complain.

DD never wore her hair up for longer than the day - if she gets through MNSSHP with it I'll be happy!

I just went last Wednesday (though, full disclosure: it was at DisneyLAND), and they still used "Ariel's Jellyfish Gel." It was in a little pomade tin.

Yes - so disappointing! We were there a couple weeks ago in the morning, and DD's braids were gone by late afternoon. For the money, I expected it to last the whole day at least!

We are going 11/26-11/30. Our 180 opened today. We had a preferred MK day, but the only time available was 4:50PM. We were trying for early afternoon or morning even, so we could scoot over to Park Fare. Count me in as one of the people that will be calling in daily. Very surprised this is so booked up already.

I was also shocked. We had been offered 530 and that is way too late... sigh. I've been calling and absolutely nothing. I don't know how much longer I can keep calling, holding for an hour and being told no :(

DONT GIVE UP! We are going the first week of July and I did not get our preferred time until 3 weeks ago! People will start changing their plans as it gets closer to the trip date.

It may have actually gone as fast as you think. We are going in October which appears to have become very busy. My husband and I were both calling at "7 am eastern." Technically we started at 6:55 am. At first it would say something along the lines of, "the office is now closed..." Around 6:59, instead of getting that message, my husband was put on hold. I was repeat dialing at the same time and got put on hold after him. He was able to get an appointment. I stayed on hold for a few minutes because after he made the appointment, I thought I might want to switch to an earlier time. Once I reached someone that entire day was full.

I really wish they would put BBB reservations online like they do for almost everything else. I dont know why they do it for dining and special events like firework dessert parties and such, but not for BBB/PL/Pirate & Pal Cruise/etc.

I agree it's so annoying having to call and then be put on hold forever.
