I decided kind of late in the game that I wanted to treat my nieces and nephew to pirate makeovers. Our cruise is October 11th and I booked about a month ago with only morning slots available. Would I be able to change the time to 6:00 or later once on the ship? I'm hoping they hold back some slots like they do for dining.

Thanks!

Yes, they do hold back ressies for booking onboard. If this is a priority ask where to go once aboard, and adjust said ressies.

Keep your current bookings , then adjust aboard. In fact, book an appointment for all if possible in advance. It is easier for DCL to adjust/tweak an existing appointment than to add one ironically.

IOW, it is easier for DCL to adjust an existing ressie than to give a new one, that may not exist.

However, asking for pirate makeovers at 6pm for "nieces and nephews", of unknown quantity , on Pirate night , is , ... somewhat obscene, but potentially possible. Lol. :lmao:

Board ASAP, and go to BBB appts and changes, depending on where that locale may be. That particular locale can vary somewhat. Check the little sample Navigator they give you at checkin. If you don't see it ask. If you do have to ask expect the runaround, unfortunately. I'll guess BBB appointment alterations are made at BBB, deck 5 Atrium starboard.

Good Luck

They don't do The Pirate's League makeovers onthe Fantasy right? We are on the Dream for a three night cruise...

Thanks so much for the info! I booked the three of them a month ago at the times that were available. It was logical to me that it would be better to book and then try to get the times changed rather than booking a new reservation onboard

Wow, I have lots to do on embarkation. Need to combine our Remy and Palo reservations since I had to make two separate ones - the DCL website wouldn't allow me to book a table for more than 5. Then I need to book Mixology and scoot over to BBB (or wherever) to change the times. I'm going to be a busy bee!

Yes, they do have Pirate's League makeovers on the Fantasy. That's why I was able to book.:)

We did this exact thing. My DH went to the BBB and I went to guest services to do Mixology, etc. Went up to BBB when I finished and he was still waiting there for it to open. I believe no one gets there until noon. We were the first there, and there was a line of about 5 others by the time they opened, but we were able to change our time to exactly what we wanted in the early evening.

If you have an early PAT I would run right to guest services for Mixology, then immediately to BBB :) Luckily they are pretty much in the same spot, just up two flights of stairs.

Im so sorry. I meant, they don't have them on the Dream, right? Obviously, they have them in the Fantasy. We are going on the Dream in Nov.

I would try to get them done earlier than 6. Do you have late dining? You want to have time to get pictures taken, as well as be at the first pirate deck party with Mickey & the gang around 7:30/7:45.

We've booked our daughters for the under the sea makeover (they're 9 & 7) - is the outfit that comes with this worth the upgrade over the less expensive ones? Should we just go with a pirate makeover?

No worries.:) No, they don't do the pirate makovers on the Dream since they don't have BBB.

Yes, we have late dining. Do you think 6:00 is still too late?

I suggest that you check out the navigators from the Fantasy on pirate night to see when characters were scheduled. Usually they are before 1st, between the two and after 2nd. On pirate night that is more difficult because of the deck party. Mickey & the gang will be out in their pirate garb for photos 5-6. I would schedule it so that you can get those pictures. They are only young once and I am glad that I planned our day out for lots of them. I was not prepared for my DD to tell me that she was fine without getting a picture with Snow White in her SW costume towards the end of our PC repo in 2008 at only 8 yos. :( The kids still get pictures with the characters as teens, but there is no more dressing up. On our last cruise DD did BBB. It was her last time being able to since she was 12 -- she went for the first time with a friend the year before and the attention paid to the girls was about so more than just dressing up. Her appointment was at 4 and afterwards DH went around the ship with her getting pictures, as well as posing with the characters until early seating started.

There are family activiites between 6 and the deck party, so your DS can enjoy being treated like a pirate by the CMs for a little while and the time will pass quickly for the party.

very easy to do as most of time it only takes 15 minutes on Pirate night for the make-up, etc, versus the full blown BBB hair, etc which takes 45 minutes (which means more available time slots)...

we got on the ship for our August 16th WC cruise and made an appointment for my daughter at 5:45 on pirate night...
