Looking for input on whether or not to take my 12 1/2 year old to the boutique. Is she too old? Most of what I've read has been about younger girls going.

She might be too old...I have mainly seen little girls at the Boutique. Probably no one over the age of 9-10.

My SIL, who also posts on DIS, is taking her 12 yr old daughter. I guess if your daughter wants to do it and you don't mind...let her do it! Heck...if it were acceptable for an adult to do it I might be tempted...

I'd do it myself in a heartbeat if they'd let me!!!

I have 2 girls and will be taking a daytrip to DTD to meet cousins. DD10 does not want to do BBB so she will go to DQ w/ her DC who is also the same age. DD6 will do BBB w/ DC who is also 6.

If your DD is looking for something to do at DTD, their are other things to do.

If she wants to do it she should.

I think 12 and 1/2 is still young enough to want to be a princess for a day.
I would take her.
If you decide that it is not a good idea, then
you could always take her to the Grand Floridian to get her hair done.
My nieces went there. They wove their hair in such a way that it framed their faces like a crown. They looked beautiful. The plus was that they were told when they took it out, their hair would be all curls and it was.
They were so pampered. The person that took care of them was wonderful. I'm sorry that I don't remember her name. They got lots of pixie dust that day.

As my SIL posted, I am taking my DD12 to BBB to get her hair and nails done. My DD10 is going so they are both going together. I say let them be young and kids while they can. It is the magic of Disney. We are going for lunch and mini golfing while they are "done up". I think they will think they are princesses for the day. DD12 is a tomboy but agreed to this. I think she saw the pictures and it looked like magic to be honest. I say if she wants it, let her go for it. They grow up way too fast! Let them be kids once more. Have a great trip no matter what you decide. :thumbsup2

We just got back and I saw two girls, sisters, that had to be at least 18 with their hair done and wearing the BBB sashes. Everyone is a kid at WDW!

I'm booking my DD and her friends at the Boutique when they are at DTD with their marching band - the girls will be about 18/19. I called specifically to ask if this was OK, and they said absolutely, all ages are welcome.

Who knows? I may end up in a sash as well!
