Bibbidi-Bobbidi-BOO and a few Disney Dresses too!~ A Sept ’13 TR

These outfits are killing me. SO CUTE! And it seems like they are pretty good sports about changing too, LOL! :rotfl: The villains dresses are my favorites so far I think!

Great updates. We did the opposite of you that day.....HS in the morning and Epcot in the evening.

That is a lot of food for one day! LOL But everything sounds so yummy! Both are restaurants we've never tried, so it was nice to hear your review.

I love the Duffey outfits!:lovestruc My daughter would go crazy for one of those dresses! We were never able to meet him. Both times when we approached his line was closed!

Great updates! It excites me that you were able to do so much all in one day--I'm making a similar plan and have heard from friends I'm crazy to park hop! :)

How funny that Donovan was scared of the Maelstrom! I also think it's so cute how Jorie really has that princess pose down with her dresses. :) Is Donovan's Fantasmic shirt all applique? That is one talented custom sewer!

Oh yeah, we're going to Kouzzina, too! Glad you enjoyed it.

Forgot to ask...did Bronwyn and Isla do well during Fantasmic? My DD will be almost 3yr old when we go, and I was wondering about it being scary.

Hi! :) I agree, I can't wait to see the next set of outfits....so adorable! Would you do the DDPlan again?

Those Malificent dresses... /I/ want one. They are absolutely gorgeous. You have seriously inspired me to try to get in touch with my inner crafter and make some pieces for my DD for our upcoming trip in May. I'm still a beginning sewer but oh you fill me with the desire to get better and make pretty pretty things :)

Love all the outfits...especially Maleficent!

I have heard great things about both Kouzzina and Via Napoli but still haven't made it to either yet. Everything sounds so good though. I think I would need a trip just for eating and no rides, shows, etc to be able to try everything I keep reading about.

I am hooked on your TR and can't wait to read more!

Such thought and creativity went into all the outfits shown so far. I would love to know all the designers that you used, especially for your DS shirts! I am always having a harder time finding clothes for our DS.

I am learning so much from your TR, January will be our first trip using PP+. We have used PP before but not PP+. Do they give you prints at all the meals that have photographers at?

I did not know either that Ariel got a new look. DD will be so happy to see the change.

You had the CUTEST outfits for the kids! They look so, so adorable.

We've never tried Kouzzina, but it's on the "someday" list. I was really glad to read your positive review!

So happy you enjoyed Via Napoli! It's a definite favorite of ours, and #1 on Bryan's list. Did you loved the risotto balls?

Would you believe in all of our character hunts we've never stopped to meet Duffy? I'm sure that will change if Maddie ever catches on to the fact that a Duffy (and many outfits for said bear) can be purchased. He's likely to become her favorite then :rotfl2:

Poor Donovan! Trolls can be scary! We've never done Malestrom either, so I would have had no idea what to warn DD about. :lmao:

Oooh you need to add Kouzzina to your "must-do" list! It was really good- and I know you guys like good food!

Oh my YES I loved the risotto balls at Via Napoli (I should go back into my report and add that)

Really, you've never met Duffy? That surprises me! Oh and the stuffed Duffy that Disney sells is so cute! The "Disney" outfits for him are pretty boyish (well I guess he is a boy, haha) but I've found that all of the outfits from Build-a-Bear fit him too. So most of the time our Duffy is dressed like a princess. princess:

I love Donovan's Fantasmic shirt! It's awesome!

I swear if you miss one bus or have to wait extra long, you are doomed by Disney transportation all day! :rotfl2:

Thank you- I love that shirt too! I'm really hoping it still fits him next year!

We were definitely doomed that day! Luckily we had better luck for the rest of the trip :thumbsup2

Great pics! :)

:thanks:

These outfits are killing me. SO CUTE! And it seems like they are pretty good sports about changing too, LOL! :rotfl: The villains dresses are my favorites so far I think!

:lovestruc Aww, thank you!! They are VERY good sports about changing outfits. (Although they probably didn't even realize that it's not the norm to change 2 or 3 times a day... or in a Disney bathroom :rotfl2:)

Great updates. We did the opposite of you that day.....HS in the morning and Epcot in the evening.

That is a lot of food for one day! LOL But everything sounds so yummy! Both are restaurants we've never tried, so it was nice to hear your review.

I know, I was regretting all of that food at about 4 in the morning! But oh the food was so good. Definitely two restaurants that you should try if you ever have the chance.

Hopefully next time you'll get to meet Duffy! He was really sweet, I think Alexa would love him!

Great updates! It excites me that you were able to do so much all in one day--I'm making a similar plan and have heard from friends I'm crazy to park hop! :)

Oh yeah, we're going to Kouzzina, too! Glad you enjoyed it.

Forgot to ask...did Bronwyn and Isla do well during Fantasmic? My DD will be almost 3yr old when we go, and I was wondering about it being scary.

Looking back, we really did fit in a TON each day! Of course there is stuff that we missed- which gives us reason to go back, right? The plan had been to go back to our resort everyday for a midday nap/rest/swim... but we found that naps didn't work out so well with everyone in one room.

We picked the park hoppers with the idea that if we took a bus to a park in the AM, we didn't want to have to take a bus again in the PM... so I would choose a park/resort that we could take the monorail/boat to for dinner. And the opposite if we went to a close park in the morning. For our next trip we may actually skip the park hoppers and stick to one park per day. (to save on $ and travel time)

Jorie definitely has that princess dress pose down. princess: She's such a little ham. And yes, Donovan's Fantasmic shirt is all applique besides the character faces which are handpainted on. So amazing, isn't it?

I hope you love Kouzinna! We sure did.

Bronwyn and Isla both seemed to love Fantasmic! They didn't find it at all scary. Although they don't ever seem to be scared of the villains when they watch Disney movies either. There were some loud noises, fire, and of course the villains so it definitely could be scary for some. Maybe try watching a Youtube video of the show before you go... or just try it out and see how she does. You could always leave if you had to.

Hi! :) I agree, I can't wait to see the next set of outfits....so adorable! Would you do the DDPlan again?

We were actually just talking about if we would do the Deluxe DP again and we aren't sure yet what we'll do. It was a LOT of food! Much more than we are used to eating especially on the days where we had 3 sit-down meals. Last trip we did a bunch of character dining and a few 2 credit/Signature dining (HDDMR & CRT) which definitely made it worth it to us. For next trip, we have to sit down and decide where we want to eat each day see how many "credits" we would be using -and then we'll be able to decide if we'll do the regular dining plan or add on the deluxe again. The hard part right now is deciding where we want to eat. There are restaurants that we want to do again and so many more that we want to try!

Aww thanks! And actually if you look closely - one is Malificent, one is Ursula (Isla) and one is the evil queen (Bronwyn) :maleficen

Love all the outfits...especially Maleficent!

I have heard great things about both Kouzzina and Via Napoli but still haven't made it to either yet. Everything sounds so good though. I think I would need a trip just for eating and no rides, shows, etc to be able to try everything I keep reading about.

Or a whole month in Disney would work too, right? :rotfl2: I wish!!!

I am hooked on your TR and can't wait to read more!

Oh that's so nice to hear! Thank you! :lovestruc

I can definitely recommend some great designers. Most of them are through Facebook. I'll send you a PM if you'd like.

Yes, PP+ was great to have at the restaurants. Those that take photos will find you sometime during the meal and hand you your photo package. Usually it was an 8x10 and 4 4x6s that we received, which was really nice!! We ate at most of the dining locations, so it was really nice to go home with a bunch of photos!

It looks like those dining locations that participate are:
1900 Park Fare, Ohana (breakfast only), Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, Chef Mickeys, Cinderellas Royal Table*, Tusker House Restaurant, Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, and Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Day #3
Friday, Sept 27th

I woke up around 4am with the worst stomach ache, I had eaten WAY too much the day before! Thankfully I ended up falling back asleep and waking up to my alarm at 6:45.

We all got showered and ready to head back to Hollywood Studios!

Someone was happy to be awake this morning!

The Disney bus gods were on our side and we had no trouble getting to HS by 8:30. We didn't have any set breakfast plans, so we had grabbed milks from our fridge in the hotel room and let the kids eat the Greek doughnuts from dessert the night before.

My mom and Jorie were also up and on their way... but not without stopping for some more resort pics first.

Do you think she likes the camera?

We found them waiting for us outside the park. Jorie had picked out her gift from Nana, a cute stuffed Pluto!

We stopped for a few fun Monsters University PP pics.

Then on to bag check & the gates...

Hollywood Blvd.

continued in next post

After our PP pics we headed right for TOY STORY MANIA!! (why of course!!)

We had a 9-10am FP+ but we decided that our first stop would be the standby line.

The fast pass return time was already for 12:20-1:20 and the park had just opened!

We had maybe a 15-20 minute wait- but the queue is so darn cute that we didnt mind! LOVE it!! So many fun things to look at while you wait.

3-D Glasses! :3dglasses

We decided that Isla would be my riding partner. Donovan and my mom rode together. And Joe rode with Jorie and had Bronwyn on his lap.

Our Scores:

Mine & Isla's (She was doing a lot more looking around and pointing than shooting! :lmao:)

Jorie & Joe's - but he claimed it was Bronwyn's score

After our first ride we hopped right back in line using our FP+. Yeah! 2 rides right in a row! This time we switched it up a bit and I held Bronwyn on my lap and had Donovan as my passenger. Isla took a turn with Joe and Jorie rode with my mom.

Our 2nd ride scores:

Mine (Bronwyn's haha) & Donovan's

Isla & Joe's

Such a fun ride. It was declared Joe and Donovan's favorite! I wish that there was a ride photo for it. I wonder why there isn't one... huh? :confused3

We would have loved to ride again but the standby line was now at 45 minutes and the FP return time was already at 3:40 4:40!

So it was time to move on...

NEXT

So then we headed right across the street to meet a very special cowboy and space ranger.

Another cute queue that kept the kids occupied.

OK, so Bronwyn was getting tired of waiting... she was ready to meet Woody & Buzz!!!

This was my absolute favorite meet & greet of the trip. So I'm just warning you that there are a ton of pics. The characters interaction was fantastic!

Looks like Bronwyn is showing off a little shoulder for Woody.

Woody was shaking his head as we were getting ready to leave. He didn't want us to go!

He was telling Jorie that he wanted to take her home and she should get in his holster. So cute!

NEXT

Our next stop:

While we waited in line, Joe got a text from his parents that they had landed at MCO and were getting on the Magical Express. They asked about meeting us at the park but we told them not to worry about trying to get all the way over to HS since we would probably be leaving after lunch -and that we would just meet them that night before dinner.

We enjoyed The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show ~ especially Bronwyn since she LOVES Ariel. Whenever she sees her, she tries to sing just like her "ah, ah, AHHHH, ah, ah, AHHHH!" We thought it was cute... not sure about the people sitting around us.

On our way over to our next stop, we spotted....

Sofia!!

The girls were bummed that we wouldn't have time to stop and meet her. But the line looked really long and we were trying to fit in a show before lunch...

Beauty and the Beast ~ Live on Stage!!

LOVED it! Beauty and the Beast has always been one of my favorites. The singing, dancing and costumes were just fantastic.

Although now Donovan was starting to whine that we had done two things in a row that were soooo girly. So during the show I used the MDE app to change around a few FP+ so that my mom could take him to see the Indiana Jones Stunt show and Muppets 3D after lunch. He was happy with that.

On our way over to lunch we stopped for a few more PP photos:

Isla was having a moment and refusing to look at the camera.

Our Lunch Destination?
SCI-FI Dine-In Theater

While we waited, the kids went for a drive.

After about 10 minutes, our buzzer was going off and we were seated in a convertible. Yay!! The 7 of us fit perfectly into the 3 rows of seats, (we had Bronwyn sit between Joe and me.)

Both Joe and I ordered milkshakes as our drinks. Yum! Joe picked a half & half, while I chose the seasonal special shake, which was Coconut Cream Pie. Oh it was SO good!

For our appetizers:

Fried Dill Pickles - served with spicy Ranch Dipping Sauce -Yum, these were awesome!
Spinach and Artichoke Dip - A blend of Monterey Jack, Swiss, and Parmesan, Spinach, and Artichokes served with Corn Tortilla Chips -Eh, this was just okay. Nothing special.

We could not keep Bronwyn from reaching for our food & drinks even though she had a plate and cup of her own right in front of her. So we ended up asking for a highchair.

For our entrees:

Salmon BLT - served on crusty French Roll with Arugula, Vine-ripened Tomatoes, Bacon, red onion and d Chili-Chive Aioli, served with cucumber salad or fries (Joe)
Smoked Turkey Sandwich - Smoked Turkey, crispy Bacon, Lettuce, and Vine-ripened Tomatoes with Avocado Mayonnaise on Multigrain Bread served with Cucumber Salad (Me)

I'm not sure what my mom or the kids ordered. They were in the two rows in front of us. The kids thought that it was pretty cool that they could watch the movie clips while they ate their lunch- and we didn't hear a peep out of them the whole time!

Well until they all decided that they had to use the bathroom... and none at the same time.

I believe that Donovan was first. The girls claimed that they did not have to go... that is, until we got back. Then Jorie decided that yeah, maybe she did have to go too. Oh course I checked with Isla and no she did not have to go... until about 5 minutes after I got back from taking Jorie. Uh, gotta love the domino effect!

It was coming up on the time when we needed to use our next set of Fastpasses.

So my mom and Donovan left ahead of us to see the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. I believe they were seeing a 1:45 show. Joe, the girls, and I stayed back to pay the bill. We were going to skip dessert but our waiter asked us if we wanted a second set milkshakes to-go.... Well who would say no to that?!

Eating at Sci Fi was my moms one and only request for the whole trip. So I had reluctantly made the reservation, since the thought of eating in a dark, indoor drive-In watching Godzilla-type movies didn't really appeal to me. But in the end I was pleasantly surprised. The milkshakes & fried pickles rocked, our sandwiches were decent and the kids had a good time.

Would we eat here again? Ahh, probably not. Only if the kids requested to go back. It was a "been there, done that" kind of place for us.

So with full bellies and milkshakes in hand.... We headed over to...

TOWER of TERROR!!! :scared1: Yeah probably not the best plan for right after lunch.

Joe had ridden it back in highschool and he was excited to ride it again. And Jorie being the daredevil that she is, was definitely up for it. So we grabbed a Rider Switch pass at the main entrance and then Joe & Jorie used their FP+ which was good from 1:15-2:15.

While they were gone I dealt with a crabby Bronwyn. It was past her normal naptime and she was having nothing to do with laying down in the stroller. So I was pacing back and forth, up and down the street in front of TOT like a mad women, trying to get her to fall asleep. ... with no luck.

Finally Joe and Jorie came out of the exit. I could see on Jorie's face that she did not like it. (But of course now if you'd ask her, she claims that it was her favorite ride in Disney. Liar! lol)

So Joe says to me... "I don't think you'll like it and I don't think Jorie will want to ride again. I think we should go."

Huh? What about my turn?

"I don't feel good." he says. Ahhhhh, now the truth comes out.

By that point I was hot and tired of dealing with a crying baby. So I said fine lets go. I didn't feel like riding it by myself anyway. I suggested that Joe and Jorie have some PP pics taken in front of TOT.

The photographer did a cute magic shot with Jorie.

And then he did a few with the two of them in front of TOT

I could see Joe's face turning the color of his shirt! He was definitely going to be sick. He rushed over to me and asked me for a bag. Well I happened to have a plastic bag in the bottom of the stroller that was full of ponchos. I grabbed it, threw all of the ponchos out of it, quickly handed it to Joe and pointed him to the bathroom that we happened to be right next to. Thankfully he made it to the bathroom.

The girls and I grabbed a seat on a park bench, finished our milkshakes and watched some of the street performers. And of course now Bronwyn was fast asleep in the stroller.

Joe finally felt better enough to escape the bathroom. At this time we had a 2:30-3:30 FP+ for Rock 'n' Roller coaster. Joe asked if I'd be upset if I didn't get to ride it. Well, yes, but I didn't have much of a choice. So we headed out of the park.

I was sad to leave HS since we didn't have plans to return. We had a ton of fun with what we did do... but I felt like we really missed a lot of the park. ~Star Tours, Animation Building, Streets of America, Lightning McQueen & Mater, and of course TOT and RnRC for me. Next time we'll definitely have to plan a full day here.

There was a Poly bus waiting at the bus stop (luck was definitely on our side!) Once we arrived back at the Poly, Joe barely made it off of the bus before he was sick again. This time that plastic bag came in handy, yuck!! So we headed back to our room...

NEXT: Just keep swimming....just keep swimming...

Poor Joe! That happened to my husband after Expedition Everest.

Love the kids Toy Story outfits and your review of Sci Fi. Maybe a dining change for our next trip? :)

I'm glad you guys made it on TSM twice! That is definitely my favorite ride!

Those outfits are all so cute! How fun for your HS day!

I haven't been to sci fi since I was a kid, I might have to put it on my list just for fun! The milk shakes sounds delicious!

I'm sorry you didn't end up getting to ride TOT or RNRC : (

My last trip I definitely had a lot more fun at DHS than I have in the past, I'm going to plan some more time there too on my next trip!

Oh no! Poor Joe. I hope it passed quickly. I would be so bummed out if I missed ToT or RnRC. Our last trip RnRC was closed so it's a must next time.

Great updates! And thanks for the answer about Fantasmic!

I LOVE Bronwyn's Buzz dress!! So adorable! The meet & greet with Buzz & Woody looks like so much fun. They must have gotten a real kick out of all the kids' cute Toy Story outfits!

We are big fans of Sci-Fi for some reason. I think the atmosphere more than the food. But YES, it can be so difficult with a little one! I remember taking DS for the first time when he was a year old, and that was a brutal experience. Somehow we still wound up going back last year, and he was a lot better at 2 years old, and again this year at 3 than he was on that first visit. :rotfl:

Well, I'm glad Jorie was brave enough to try ToT, but poor Joe!! I have been affected by motion sickness in the past and it is seriously no fun. Thankfully now the less-drowsy Dramamine works well for me, or I don't know that I could enjoy my favorite attractions as much.

What a great update, loved the outfits!!
How does the rider swap work with FP+? WE have used rider swap in the past but this is all new to me with FP+ and scheduling.

Goodness so many updates (not that I'm complaining). But I'm finally all caught up now. :)

So glad you loved Fantasmic. It is well worth waiting for in my opinion. And at least you get to sit while you wait.

My God your kids outfits are just the cutest.

Wow, that ToT ride was almost empty.
