Beware the Path to Frontierland!

We made the mistake of getting caught over BTTMRR one year too during Specto and we will never do that again. So, now we make sure to get a seat on Main Street close to the Confectionary and we have never had any issues with exiting. Another scary place to be is on the bridge to Tommorrowland right after Wishes. We got stuck in that last year, and we didn't move for over 45 minutes. Then the kid in front of us starting throwing up. It was just gross! I'll never get caught there again, I 'll start heading to Tommorrowland as soon as it is over and exit the park later.

How does banning a electronic scooters from the park even compare to a stroller you push with your hands? I am just curious on your evaluation of such a comparison.

My point was originally, by banning these electronic scooters we can reduce folks from running into my family. We have personally experience this and no I was not very tolerant. I pay my money to the parks just the same as they do so why do they get the right to run over my family?

Just my humble opinion.

You can't punish everyone because of the actions of a few. There will always be those select few who have no concern for anyone around them.

oooo- everything I read says to watch the parade in frontier land because that is where the parade starts. After the parade it is easier to exit as the parade winds its way through the park-
Is Frontier land a not so good place to view the parade?

Or people leaving during the parade is what causes the mess?
Well, now, that used to be the case. However, The Powers That Be have decided to reverse the direction of the CaDCT parade a month or so ago, so now it starts on Main Street and ends in Frontierland. Now, there's always a hoard of guests that follow the parade... and when it ended on Main Street, most would simply exit the park. Now they find themselves in Frontierland... at a Dead End.

To say the crowds are darn near unmanageable is rather an understatement.

I'd suggest watching it on Main Street in the future.
Does the train run during the parade? I'm thinking that it doesn't...but maybe I am remembering Disney Land and not Disney World...:scratchin
The WDW Railroad doesn't really run during the parade. Well, they sort-of do, but there are delays while the floats cross the tracks at Frontierland.
So Sorry :scared1:....I think you should let Disney know about this experience maybe they should be monitoring the crowd level there during parades!
I can assure you that Disney is constantly monitoring crowd levels -- especially during parades. Higher attendance numbers result in a reduced number of show stops.
They encouraged people along the stone-wall path and the wooden walkway to keep moving but a lot of people ignored the poor CM's and stopped to watch the parade. So the people in the back just kept pushing forward while the people in front were blocked by people who had stopped to watch the parade. It seems like Disney does know about the problem and has tried crowd control measures but some in the crowd just weren't paying attention.
You pretty much nailed it. The simple fact of the matter is that there are some Guests who have a sense of entitlement and think they can sit (or stand, or park) anywhere in order to see a parade, regardless of others. It's unfortunate, but there's not much Disney can do about it (especially if they willfully ignore CM requests to move) -- by the time Security arrives the parade is over and the Guests have left.

Half the crowd problems i notice personally as an eye witness involve those stupid scooter things. I wish they would ban them and make people use a wheel chair.
Great idea. So if I move my trip up a week, you'll be around to push the wheelchair up and down hills and ramps? I can manage on flat ground.

Thanks in advance. That's mighty kind of you!

Folks we are not going to turn this into an ECV debate again. The op was talking about a problem exiting Frontierland and the narrowness of the path. This thread will be closed if we continue to argue over ECV usage.
Fair enough :)

So, here's the thing. If you're watching a parade from Frontierland, watch from the shops/restaurants side of the street. After the parade passes, make your way over to Adventurland via the closest connection - either the path near where the parade enters/exits, or the hallway where the restrooms and phones are.

Voila! You've avoided that narrow path and the accompanying logjam, er Guestjam. Of course, if you're closer to the Frontierland bridge/Liberty Square, you're free to leave that way :)

From now on, it seems that the Parade Gate at Splash Mountain is the place where the parade exits.

And you're forgetting a third exit point: the breezeway between the Frontierland Pin Trading Outpost and the Country Bear Jamboree (the one that takes you to the Agrabah Bazaar, Flying Carpets, and Sunshine Tree Terrace).

How about if you get caught in Frontierland, just staying and watch the parade? Find a spot, even if its not a great spot, relax and enjoy. After the parade passes, remain and let the crowd thin out before moving on. Less stress, more pleasant memories, and no hassle!!

First all, that path though Frontierland back to the main hub can be dicey, depending on the time of day and the parade that just ended..it is hilarious watching people who have just seen the parade run to try and cut it off so they can watch it again on main street..

And okay, since it was brought up...all the folks with the scooters can get ugly at me now, that is fine, but not everyone on these things are polite. And in some cases I question why they have them..If you are disabled and/or have problems walking then this post is not about you..but for the others that rent or bring these things in just to use them as battering rams so their brood can get through the park, then shame on you..

I always thought the kiddie stollers and the folks that ram them through the crowds were bad enough, but these are worse..

I personally witnessed several of these powered ramming machines slam into older folks that were walking around..

The most amusing one was watching a very "caffein charged" mother ram her twin stroller into one and the lady in the powered cart back up then ram back into her..luckily a CM was around and that poor person had to solve the dispute...

I will help you out as long as you let me hop on when we go down the hills...fair enough? That would be an adventure in and of itself!

I get your point though and I understand that those with true disabilities need these contraptions to help make their park experience better. I just get frustrated with some who are so hateful and ungrateful toward the other park guests who do actually try to accommidate those with disabilities.

I am one of those who still help little old ladies across the street and carry groceries and help out in the community several hours a week, so don't get me wrong. I just think there can be something to regulate the extremes on these situations.

And yes, I would hate to punish the majority because of the minority who are ignorant in their usage.

You know, I need to ask- is Frontierland a less crowded place to watch Spectro than Main St.? Several weeks ago after reading these boards I wrote in my notes to watch Spectro from F.L.. Now I'm wondering if this is a good idea or not.

Also, when we are there Spectro is a 9 and Wishes at 10. What do you guys think the best strategy would be to do both?

Spectro in front of Hall of Presidents.

Wishes from in/near the Hub.

Thanks Robo. How early should we get to Hall of Presidents? Is there anywhere to sit?

Then we go to the hub- I imagine at that point we'll be standing for Wishes, correct?

Appreciate the knowledge!

With the MNSSHP parade, does it start in Frontierland or on Main Street? I know last year my husband and I parked ourselves on a bench right beside the Liberty Ferry Boat. Will this still be a good location to view the parade?

And I would like to see spectro this year. I have never seen it before,so are the benches besides the Liberty boat a good place for that?

As a side note, I am terrified of fireworks and I know spectro is right around the time of wishes.:scared: Is there a spot I could see spectro and avoid wishes?

THanks so much!
:dance3:

Spectro starts near the Fire Station on Main Street and winds back to Frontierland.
(See the map below.)

All of the parades (EXCEPT SpectroMagic)
USED to start in Frontierland and end/exit near the Fire Station on Main Street.

However, just starting very recently, the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade
(3 O'Clock Parade) changed its direction to match Spectro's...
so, we just won't KNOW until the first MNSSHP parade of this season.

Stay tuned.

A look at the MK Parade Route.

SpectroMagic will be over 20-45 minutes (depending on where you view it) before Wishes begins.

(Both events begin at the top of the hour, an hour apart.
Spectro's running time is only about 15 minutes.)

There is plenty of time to go elsewhere before the fireworks start.

Thank you so much for this information. I thought Spectro lasted a lot longer. My husband will be thrilled to know that I will not be placed close to the fireworks!:banana::banana:

Expect to be standing to see them both.

Unless you choose to sit on the curb or on the ground, "seats" (benches and chairs) are few and far-between (and usually taken very early... sometimes hours early!)
Even if you secured a chair or bench, some of those seats would end up with an obstructed view as more guests would line the streets in front of them (the chairs would most likely be farther back away from the edge of the street.)
