SO's youngest brother got married this weekend, and amongst the bridal party there were a total of 11 tuxedos rented. The bridal couple registered in AZ, but most of the tuxes were picked up in FL (either the Stuart or Melbourne stores). This was just one fiasco after another. This company really doesn't have it together. Just a few of the mishaps.

One of the bride's cousin's tuxes came in with one leg 6" shorter than the other leg!!!

The ring bearer's tuxed arms didn't even come past his elbows. First they thought they would just let out the seam to lengthen the arms, but they didn't have that much fabric (obvious to anyone with half a brain looking at the tux), so they were going to overnight it, but appearantly the entire country is out of the "Edge" style in a child's (age 7) size. So the BEST they could do was offer a try on tux in a different style that was at the store.

One of SO's other brothers (the father of the ring bearer) found flowers and toothpicks in his tux pocket. Flowers and toothpicks don't sound to bad, but the point is that they must not clean the tuxes too well, what if it had been hypodermic needles?

The fittings were to have taken place at least 1 month before the wedding, and they all did, but the groom gets a call 3 weeks before the wedding saying that one of the brothers had not yet been fitted. But he had been fitted a few weeks before that!

And then the BIGGEST issue of all. All totaled there were 4 men and one little boy who had the same last name (my SO, his 3 brothers, and his nephew). One of the brothers was the groom, his tux was free with the other rentals. MY SO was fitted in Melbourne and we placed a deposit on the tux (to be paid in full at time of pick up). One of his brothers and the ringbearer got fitted in Ohio, and the last brother was fitted in Stuart. All three of these were to be picked up in Stuart, and paid for in full by one of the brothers. The store in Stuart incorrectly applied one of the payments to our account in Melb. They were supposed to get it fixed, but didn't. So when SO and I go to pick his up in Melb. they say we are payed in full. I should have just walked out, but didn't want anyone elses credit card to be double charged. We tried to get it fixed. The woman call the Stuart store and eventually they just completely refund SO's paid in full account and apply it to the brother who was supposed to be paid off. Then try to charge us the full amount again....ummm wait a sec, I just told you we put down a deposit. Well they give this song and dance about the deposit must have been on the wrong brothers, so when his was paid they really only paid the balance (NOPE!!!! One brother paid $335...the cost of 3 $111.xx tuxes) so we end up paying an extra $20 because we have been there for over an hour and need to get the rehersal. Needless to say, this company really dropped the ball as far as service goes!

Oh my goodness, that sounds just awful!!! What a nightmare! I hope the wedding turned out alright despite these setbacks. I don't think anyone in our group will be renting their tuxes from Men's Wearhouse!

Yikes! My brother's in a wedding in 2 weeks and is getting his tux at Men's Warehouse. Hope everything works out. I'll be sure to warn him.

With all due respect to Mens Wearhouse (and I really do hope it all worked out for you and am sorry you had a problem), but I couldn't follow what exactly you needed to do with all these tuxedos, so I'm thinking it was a little confusing to the people who work at all those different Mens Wearhouse stores you were using!!!!!!! Please don't be mad at me for pointing this out, and I really do hope it all worked out!!!!!!! :confused3

We are using Men's Warehouse for our wedding next March. One of my BMs had just gotten married and used them (no problems there) -- plus we had a much better feeling about them, then After Hours. Hopefully we won't encounter anything like you did. Sorry it happened to you.

These are the sorts of fears that have lead us to ensure we do all our suit hire here in the UK before travelling out to Orlando.
I certainly would not want to risk this kind of thing happening so close to the wedding.

I hope everything else went OK for you. Stressful times do not need this sort of hiccup. I would hope that this store does have plenty of satisfied customers and this was an isolated incident.

Not mad at all, but the point is that renting tuxedos for bridal parties is supposed to be what they do...it would be obvious that in many parties there are people with the same last name. Plus there are bound to be people all over the country who need to be fitted and then pick the tux up at a central location to the wedding. I don't think it should be too confusing to walk into a store and say..."my name is Bob Smith...I am with the Smith/Jones wedding party. I am getting fitted here, but will pick up my tux in another location." Again...not upset with what you are saying at all, just saying that they should be used to this.

As one of SO's brother's pointed out...you could go rent a $40,000 car for about $50 a day. For tuxedos you rent a $500 item for over $100 for a day. The price ratio there is way off, but it is okay because in reality you are paying for a "Service" the tux places are providing to you (fitting, custom sizing, delivery). In this case, the service we received was shoddy.

Actually this was par for the course in this wedding. These poor poor people... Their first reception location, the Officer's Club, burned down some months ago, so they moved the reception to the NCO club. Then the first church they were using was doing construction on the parking lot...that finally got finished and they thought all was well when sewage started backing up in the parking lot and into the church...so to solve the problem they had to tear up the parking lot again forcing them to move to a new church. Good thing they don't believe in omens!!

We used After Hours and they were fantasic. We had a few pieces that did not fit my guys and they were there by 10:00 in the morning the day of the wedding (we had a 2:00 wedding) with all replacements. They then picked EVERYTHING back up the day after the wedding. I highly recommend them.
