Just got back from a great week at WDW. Just wanted to give a heads up to all those of you who are new to the Hoop Dee Doo and are driving to the dinner. We were staying at the Beach Club Villas and allowed an hour to get to our 7:15 show. We were told that the show is held at Pioneer Hall (which it is). My biggest complaint is for as organizied as Disney is and as great as all of thier road signs are, they missed the boat on this one. We followed the signs and arrived to a parking lot with absolutley no other signage from that point. There we sat in this parking lot. We finally saw someone walking and asked them where this place was. Was told to catch a Settlement Bus and they would get us there. We finally made it but late and frustrated. The show was excellant!! The next day I spoke with a Disney representative they also agreed that it is very hard to find. I hope this will help others not have to deal with the frustrations that we felt that evening.

I agree!!! FW is one of the most confusing places in all of WDW!! We had reservations for horseback riding a year ago and ended up wandering around the Pioneer Hall area until we figured out that we were in the wrong end. So, when we had to get to HDDR, we just took the boat from CR. No way was I going to worry about being late!!

We also had that problem when trying to find the BAckyard Bar-B-Que. We didn't know anything about the settlement bus.

I do believe DW and I will be scouting it out then to try and get an idea of where it is. The first day we get to WDW is a 1/2 day anyway. We were just going to do DTD. I think finding the HDDR is moved to the top of the list for that day. Then we can go to DTD. Thanks for the heads up. :)

The easiest way to get there is to take the boat from the MK, drops you off at the FW dock and it's a short walk from that point.

Fort Wilderness is very confusing. We had trouble finding Hoop Dee Doo when we drove there a couple of years ago.

We took the boat from the GF to the MK. Then took the boat from MK to FW. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes. Always, always leave early for Hoop Dee Doo. It's worth the trip.

another word of warning... DO NOT try to get from DTD to HDDR... we allotted over an hour to get from the bus stop at DTD (thinking it was a "hub") and were still late, and would not have made it at all if a busdriver did not take pity on us, abandon his scheduled route (he had no passengers) and take us directly to pioneer hall!

getting back to our resort was a breeze... we had planned to boat it back to magic kingdom and bus it back to our resort, but when we walked out of PH there were bus drivers there directing us to their buses, each of which were dropping at three or four resorts... and that was one of the funnest bus rides i had ever been on!

The boat to and from MK is the only way to go. If you get to Pioneer Hall early, get something to drink at Crocketts tavern next door and enjoy one of the rocking chairs on the porch!

We just got home and we went to hoop de doo friday night - we took the bus from all star sports to magic kingdom and then the boat to pioneer hall - super easy. Then after the show we took the bus to epcot and staked out a spot for illuminations. Hoop de doo was MUCH better than expected, perhaps because our expectations were so low. It was absolutely adorable. Just totally cute, totally fun and everyone was super-nice and accomodating and it was a great little night!

Couldn't agree more re confusion. I remember several years ago when the buses were called boon buses. We were trying to return to the parking lot, and got on the wrong colour bus. We ended up back at Pioneer Hall having gone in a complete circle. Another time I tried to take the bus back to the All Stars, and this went to what seemed like every hotel on property and DTD before arriving at the All Stars nearly 2 hours later!!!!!!!
