Hello again knowledgeable cruisers!--Deck 9's beverage center-iced tea-freshed brewed?(hate to admit I'm a little pickie when it comes to my iced tea  --and the water-is it really very chlorinated tasting? Thanks for the info...again!!

Just got back from the 4 day and loved it better than the 7 day!
Anyway, the tea tasted instant to me , which I hate! However, I mixed it with the lemonade and added a sweet-n-low and found it greatly improved the flavor!!! Can't remember the water being a problem but once I discovered the tea trick I rarely had the water!

I haven't been yet, but have read other threads that the ice tea is the fountain type. I hate fountain tea and will not drink it. I've read that others make hot tea and get a glass of ice to pour it over - this is done in the restaurants also. This is what I plan to do. I've also read they have many varieties of hot tea to choose from, several make a great iced tea. Hope this helps!:sunny:

The iced tea at the beverage station, at the buffet, and from room service is the pre-mixed kind with a bad taste (IMHO).

However, the iced tea served at dinner in the restaurants was very good and tasted fresh brewed.

Also, brewing your own tea at the beverage station is a great option. They have a great selection of Twinnings Tea (Blackcurrant is super) and you can brew some in hot water, then add lots of ice and sweetener and it's terrific!

to all....glad to hear I'm not the only person that is particular about her tea...you've given me great solutions!::yes::

The water from the beverage station is great...no chlorinated taste at all!!!

I also mix the tea and lemonade....much better than either by themselves!!!

Another hint....the O.J. is not fresh squeezed the dining rooms or Topsiders and I do not care for it.....I always ask the server to bring me a mix of cranberry and O.J....just delicious!!!

Water -- fine
Lemonade -- very good, think it was Minute Maid
Fruit punch -- very sweet, kids liked it
Tea -- just plain nasty, nowhere near this Southern girl's standards
Juice -- fine
Hot chocolate -- fine
Milk -- whole milk, I'm used to skim so it tasted funny to me

I drank lots of water and lemonade.

I am SO glad to hear I am not the only picky Iced Tea drinker! My DH rolls his eyes when we go out and I ask if it is fresh brewed or fountain. They can take that fountain tea and throw it back into the Boston Harbour...'cuz that is where it tastes like it came from! ACK! I guess I'll be fresh brewing my own. I wonder if room service could bring me a carafe of hot water...then I can throw in the tea bags and let it brew a while. Then add sugar and pour over ice. hhmmm...anyone try this? Thanks for all the information!
Oh! also....is it my understanding that Coke Products are on board? What is the non-caffinated pop? Sprite, 7-UP or Sierra Mist? I don't drink pop, so I don't pay attention. DS drinks it when we go out, but he hates Sierra Mist. I think that is Pepsi though? Anyone know for sure?
Thanks again!

I'm almost positive it was sprite as even on vacation we do not want DS to drink caffine:D
And another vote for if its not fresh brewed tea you can keep it:tongue: :sunny: Tea is even better could bring a jar and brew it on the veranda:teeth:

Some info on water, all the tap/fountain water on the ship is produced fresh shipboard from sea water by a process called reverse osmosis. It makes for very pure water. The higher end home water filtering systems use this. Extremely low in any chemical content. Equivalent to a lot of the bottled waters out there. What we do on the cruise is to bring sport bottles and fill them with ice provided by the room steward and top up with water right off the taps in the room.

The Lemonade at the drink station is very nice too. :) The Fruit Punch is Hi-C, I saw them putting a new one in one time.

The lemonade is Minute Maid, the kind with pulp in it.
Yep, the milk was whole milk, not low fat or skim, THAT was pure luxury for those of us who drink skim milk at home.

Oh my goodness! Boy do you all make me feel better! I am glad to know that I am not the only "tea snob" out there! LOL I drive my DH crazy because I wont patronize certain restaurants because they serve that nasty fountain tea. LOL

Another suggestion may be to tuck a few of the Lipton quick brew tea bags in your suitcase. Ask for a pitcher of cold water and pop a few bags in and keep it in your fridge.
