For those who have stayed in either the Yosemite Suite or Yellowstone Suites at WL...What one do you think has a better view of Bay Lake?

Or

If you had a concierge room on either wing, how did you like your view?

Last time we stayed concierge we did not stay on 7 so I don't know.

I want to have a good view of Bay Lake in the morning.

Thanks in advance for any info:D :D

We could only see a part of the lake from 7119. All of those concierge rooms on the 7th floor are in the inner courtyard except for the honeymoon rooms and suites. The suite above Artist Point probably has a good lake view. :)

We happen to be booked in the other suite, the one across the courtyard from the one you mention. I'm wondering if I should switch to the Yosemite Suite. I just want to have a good view of the lake as my DH's swim will be in it but I have a feeling it will be way over by FW.

Anyway, glad to hear you made it home safely. You do sound like you had a magical stay.

FYI, just in case anyone is wondering. We stayed in 2151 last time. We did not want to be way up on 7. I regret that decision now. Just thought this might help someone with room locations. It was an inner courtyard view.

I believe there was a suite next to our room. I didn't look at the room #... it was probably something like 7121 or so? (we were 7119) I think the windows in that suite wrapped all the way around from the inner courtyard to the lake. At least that's what it looked like to me.

The suite over Artist Point definitely looks out toward the lake. But might be partially blocked by the trees that are next to the pool. It's hard to tell from looking up.

If you called the concierge desk and asked for Glen I'm sure he would tell you anything and everything about those views. He's so nice. :)

Floridafam, I agree with TigrLvsPooh -- give the concierge desk a call and ask for their opinion. I'm sure that no matter what suite you end up with, it will be wonderful. I can't wait to hear all about your trip upon your return.

I don't have the phone # for WL Concierge, only for the Itinerary Planning Office-where the phone just rings and rings.

Does anyone have the number for WL Concierge. Maybe one of the CM's can tell me which suite has a better view of the lake.

Thanks in advance.

CaliforniaDreaming,

The bedding in 2151 was 2 queens, it did connect to the room next door and the view was nice-it was of the pool, lake, geyser, etc. We wished we had been 1 floor higher to see over some of the trees. Actually, we wished we had just stayed up on 7 but I thought it would be too high for me and our children at the time.

I just spoke with Jack at WL Concierge.

He said the better view would be from the Yosemite Suite and that you can see more of Bay Lake from the YS. I will see if we can switch over possibly.

The swim for DH's race is pretty early and I want to be able to try and see some of it from the balcony if the kids are sleeping.

BTW, Jack was very nice.

Floridafam, I'm happy that you got the answer to your question. Please keep us posted.

Thanks everyone,

I did some more checking and I don't think it is really going to matter what suite we are in so we will probably stay where we are. We will probably end up going with him over to FW to see the swim, anyway.

We aren't going to be able to do a lot of activites as I am sure they will have some associated with the race-a dinner, expo, etc.
I wanted to try and do something really unique but am just going to try and schedule a Wishes cruise for the Sunday evening we are there.

I'm really starting to look forward to our time there. I think it will be wonderful to see all of the athletes and their families. There are around 2,000 people signed up for the race. It will be interesting to see how they incorporate WDW into the event as they are one of the sponsors. I told my DH that maybe they'll have Mickey ears on the swim caps.:p

We will be spending quite a bit of down time in the room so I am glad that we booked the one we did.

I will take a lot of pictures as I did on our last trip. I still haven't gotten around to asking DH to post some of them.

Hi FloridaFam,

I'm going to be in the 1/2 Ironman too. It's my first tri so I probably bit off a little much. But I figure it was at WDW, what better place to give it a go. I'm also staying at WL. has your husband done any tri's before?

Terri

Hi there TEK224,

Yes, he has done some tri's here in Michigan and the Gulf Coast Triathlon in Panama City Beach, FL, the Great Floridian in Clermont and this year the Florida Half Ironman and Ironman Florida in November.

Have you done others?

Did you already book your room at WL?

May I ask when you are arriving? We are coming in on Friday night as there is no schedule posted on the website yet. We figure he can pick up his race packet the day before.

Good luck. There probably is a good number of the athletes staying at WL so it should be really exciting.

Floridafam,

This is my 1st triathlon. I've done a couple of ten-mile run races before, but it's been awhile.
I'm already booked at WL. I'm bringing my Mom along (we're gonna celebrate her 79th birthday while we're there. I booked concierge as a treat for both of us.) We're checking in on Wed. night.

I'm excited about it, but also plenty nervous. And 2000 people!
Yikes!

Terri

TEK224,

How wonderful. This should be a really good event.

We will also be on the concierge floor at WL. We are not due to arrive until Friday night but we may arrive on Thursday night. I wish they had the schedule posted already.

We stayed for a week prior to the Great Floridian a couple of years ago and it just didn't work out for my DH. He said it was too much walking, etc. before the tri. Now we check in only 2 or 3 days early and then have our vacation after the race.

I'm sure we'll see you there. Good luck.
