Better than Visa Magic Code?

Just used the 57 code with a coupon and got a Minivan for $163.77 for one week in December.

Yikes! Checked back over my previous rentals, and paid $937 for a Sienna for 10 days in March 07. What a HUGE difference!

Did you try the 67 then? That code seems to be more universal for use. I think it will be fine though, I would give it a try! That is a nice savings!

I haven't tried the ...67 code yet. As I read this thread ...87 is Visa, ...67 is Travel Solutions TA & ....57 was a free use code given out by Travel solutions. Did I get it backwards??

thanks!

Yes, 67 is the "complimentary code", but some have still been told not to use it.:confused3

What in the heck am I doing wrong here? I can't get ANY codes to work, either from Mousesavers or from the last few pages of this thread. I keep getting "Coupon ID not found" messages. Is it because I'm trying to rent from on site at WDW instead of the airport? I'm an EA member, FWIW.

ETA: Never mind! I just got a MUCH better rate through Alamo -- a minivan for $120 for my (short) rental period. The small SVU I was looking at from National was well over $200. I used ID code "IG" to get that rate through National.

You should put the code in the Corporate ID box, not the coupon box.

Sorry, but I am still unclear: Is the ...57 or the ...67 the complimentary code to use????

Thank you:goodvibes

Well everyone I'm proud to post that the 57 code worked just fine for me in Tampa from april 22 to april 29. I am an Emerald Club member but we don't keep credit cards so I have to go in to the counter to get the paperwork done. (proof of return flight) I paid $157 for 7 days for a chevy uplander and the gentleman I dealt with at the counter (Joshua) even asked if I was interested in upgrading to the Toyota Sienna for $80 more. No questions were asked about the code. Please don't worry about it anymore it works...
Happy Renting :yay:

Also happy to report no problems with the "67" code. Used it last week, picked up in Fort Myers with no questions (also had to go to the counter, as they did not have any premium cars in Emerald Reserve) and returned it in Orlando.

Oh Yeah, Oh Yeah, Oh Yeah

:cool1: :rotfl2: :cool1: :rotfl2: :dancer: party:

Obviously, I'm very happy to hear this. We've booked a mid-sized, week rental Aug/Sept $133 using code 57. I couldn't use the coupons because they will expire the end of June but this rate saved me over $100 bucks!!!!

Try using ND2119071Q for a coupon. I believe this just got extended. I used it yesterday for a July reservation and it worked - $35 off with the 67 code.

Note: I believe that is the code that I used. I just scrolled through the last couple of pages of this thread to find it. If it doesn't work let me know. I wrote down the code that I used in work and I can get it for you Monday.

Mike, Can you confirm that the coupon actually worked with the *67 code? Every other coupon I have tried deducts the coupon amount, then adds it right back in.

I would say that it works for now. I also have a car booked in August (and in December) but I am not counting my code chickens before they are hatched. August is a long time from now.

What do you mean? If the package is booked with the code, how would it change. I have never rented before. Why wouldn't it work?

Sure ... anything for a Pats fan ;) I used it yesterday with the 67 code and it lowered my cost for a minivan for 16 days from $442 to $401.07. Again, I am only 90% sure that was the code I used. I will verify that on Monday.

I was able to book a car today with an Entertainment $20 off coupon and the "67" code. It would not allow me to use my 1 free day coupon though. Keep trying different coupons. I think some work and some don't. I have a mid-size from Aug 21 - 29 for $139!
I also have a midsize SUV reserved for the same time period with just my Entertainment ID & coupon for $303.:scared1: It was cheaper than renting a mid-size. I'm waiting to see how everyone makes out for the summer with the "67" code just in case.:rolleyes1

Mike, would you happen to have the link to the coupon? I'd like to have something printed out to hand to them to avoid issues with the final cost.

I didn't hand in the coupon with my reservation a couple of years ago and it caused a problem with the price. I had to go to the counter to show the coupon and have the price adjusted.

Thanks.

What did you use to get that rate at alamo? A friend of mine uses them so she can use her debit card (doesn't have credit cards) and I'd love to give her some good deal info!

I do not have a link. I got the code from this thread. But it shows up as follows on my reservation:

Blogcoupon-zl-wkly#1 ($35.00)

So I do not believe an actual coupon is required.

Alamo code "IG" sometimes give great rates within a couple weeks of your travel time.
