Oh, this is sooo funny that you are posting this now. I haven't even been on the DIS in months and I just decided to check to see if I could get a fix with pictures and look what I found!

I have to tell you and Jason that my daughter has been wearing the pirate bracelet all weekend long! She won't take the thing off! She walks around with her princess eraser and the bracelet all the time! You were amazing to do this all! Oh and I just had the snickers bar the other day on my way into work on the train - it was awesome!

I know, I know, we are hoarders - but this way its a way to relive some of the magic if you save some of the stuff till later!

Thank you so much for making our cruise so magical!

I was trying to think of things that kids of any age would enjoy! Yay that makes me happy! I totally know what you mean about savoring the magic....3/4 of the candy that we got is still in a bag with all my other FE gifts...I just can't bare to part with them!! lol! And by the way... the city names... they are not moronic or dumb.... they are mostly French, but they do make sense! I am french (from Québec) and I really think it's great that Louisiana kept a bit of the french heritage!

Thank you! lol I wasn't trying to be offensive. I grew up (and still live) in the heart of Cajun country....I've very Cajun french as are most of my relatives. They all speak very fluent Cajun french as well. It's just that a lot of people who aren't used to our culture or our way of life come in and see road signs like that and think we are stupid dumb Cajuns! I agree...I think it's great that the french heritage is still strong here. I love living here and wouldn't trade it for anything!! :0) Thanks for reading along!

Kmab00, got to say you are doing great on your trip report. Enjoying your photo's. Especially the ones of Orlando's airport. We live here in Florida and I think I have only been in Orlando's airport once that I can remember. And, that was many,many,many,many,many,many moons ago, (Too many many's...........well at least you get the picture.) Looking forward to reading the rest of your report. My DW, DGranddaughter and I are going on our 3rd Disney cruise next year. So to pass the time before we get to go, we have been reading everyones trip reports. Been getting some good ideas for our next cruise. Again, thanks for your report and keep it coming!!

I was just afraid they were going to cancel our flight and we had that room at the Hyatt booked for the night. I was really going to be an unhappy camper then! Fireproof is such a good movie! lol! Yay! Hey girl!!! Thank you! A Disney Cruise would be amazing for you and your family! I know y'all would love it!!!! There's a whole thread on fish extenders somewhere around here. Basically, you sign up for the group, you buy a bag to hang outside your cabin door, and you exchange gifts with everyone on your list. It's a lot of fun to give and see what you get in return! Thanks for finding me! lol!

Saturday, April 18, 2009 Continued! (finally!!)

So I left off with...I saw the boat, got excited, got on Facebook, and wrote "Aaaaah! I see Mickey Boat!" A lady from church thought I was talking abou the boats at WDW that take you from the parking lot to the MK!

Anyway, before too long, we saw the terminal! YAY!

The terminal was so neat!

I was surprised at the amount of people there! We left the hotel around 9:00 a.m. or so and arrived a little after 10 a.m. I wanted time to be able to explore the terminal some!

The check in process was very easy! We got in line (wasn't a long line, either) and gave the man all of our pre-filled out paperwork.

He gave us our room keys and our number to board and directed us over to the photo area. They take a photo of you before you board and then each time you key in and out, your photo appears on their screen! Pretty neat!

And Donald Duck keys! Jason was so excited!

We were waiting in line to have our ID picture taken but I made Jason pose for a picture in front of the big Mickey ears that you walk through to board the ship.

Before too long, we saw Captain Mickey!!!

After walking around and exploring, it was time to meet our DIS group over by the TV's. I had NO idea who was who so I was trying to keep an eye open for green wrist bands. A lady in our group ordered them for us and it was SO nice!

I heard a voice say, "excuse me, where did you get that wrist band". When I turned around, it was CoconutSunshine ... Jenny and her husband Sean. I was so excited to meet her! She's been a very faithful follower of my TR's on the DIS!!! For the rest of the time, we stood there talking to her and WAHkomom. (WAHkomom is the one who ordered the wrist bands for us!)

Before too long, it was time for us to board! I didn't realize that they weren't letting people board until 1p.m. I thought I had read on the DIS that it was earlier but oh well!

We were given this for Shutters....I didn't end up with this package. I thought it was a bit much and besides, we didn't take all that many pictures anyway! I could see if we took a ton of pictures but we didn't so I didn't think it was worth it....

A great CM at the door asked how many cruises we had been on, what our last name was, and where we were from. Before we knew it, we heard

"INTRODUCING, THE ******** FAMILY FROM LOUISIANA ON THEIR FIRST DISNEY CRUISE!"

Aaaaaaaaah I can't believe we are finally on board!!!!

Since the lobby wasn't crowded, we went straight to the Mickey statue and took a picture.

After the photos, we headed up to Topsiders VIA the amazing elevator for lunch!

Let the fun begin!!!!!

HappyGrumpy - I went through that in Feb! I hope you are doing OK - I had a very long, horrible recovery, I think because I was under anesthesia for so long because my gallbladder was so humungous it took them forever to get it out! I was so nauseous and unable to eat for days afterwards - I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy! So, I hope your recovery is better than that!!!

Karen - I am going away for one of those conferences I mentioned...hope to be greeted by an update when I'm back in 2 days! BTW, we just got and watched our DCL DVD. Wow, that was an extensive DVD! My youngest kept saying "we go there NOW!" and was crying when we had to tell him that we couldn't go NOW!

Saturday, April 18, 2009 Continued!

I left off at us making our way to Topsiders. We walked in and of course were handed wipes. That became a joke because they were EVERYWHERE! So now when we see anti bacterial wipes, we crack a joke about keeping our hands sanitary! lol! I'm glad they are good about that....constantly cleaning the ship and making sure we were safe.

Anwyay, we walk into topsiders and we see this!

I was impressed!

We walked through the buffet line which had some AMAZING food in it, by the way!

It was hard to find a seat but we finally found one out on the deck on the back of the ship!

It was SO pretty out there!

I loooooooooove that Strawberry soup! I got mad at DH because I wanted to eat it with my fruit/dessert. Well, I got up to go get some fruit and the plates were GONE! He thought I had fininshed eating everything so he told the guy to take my plate! lol! I had to go back and get more strawberry soup which meant I had to ask if I could cut in line because the soup was in the middle of the food line! Ugh boys!

Dessert! Yay!

They told us at check in that our room would be ready at 1:30 p.m. so around that time, we decided to try and see if we could even find our room! lol!

We found it without a problem. Category 10 room on Deck 1. Nice and quiet! I loved it! Perfect size for 2 people!

I looked through the Navigator and saw that they had a tour of the ship meeting somewhere around 2:30 p.m. so we decided to try and find it!

I didn't realize there were 3 stairwells I thought there were only 2! Whoops! So we ran all over the ship looking for our tour group. We asked a CM but they had no idea what we were talking about. Eventually we found them in the forward stairwell! Haha!

We found our tour group and leading it was a nice CM who was a part of the cruise staff. She led us to the Wide World of Sports deck (hence basketball court!)....

And the stack (those people in front of us...girl with strawberry blond hair and guy with no hair...they were our table mates at dinner only we didn't know that yet!) They were SO NICE!!!!

She also led us inside to all the restaurants/shops. Basically, the tour told you where all of the important places were located on the ship! It was great!

Before too long, it was time for that dang drill. We met in the Walt Disney Theatre and we were in group A.

After the drill, we hurried back to our rooms and I started to decorate our door!

I had a few more magnets to put on it but I saved them for later in the week.

We dropped off our life vests and decided to explore a little bit more!

We discovered that Jenny (coconutsunshine) and Seans room was right by ours...maybe 2 doors down...

I loved how they had animated pictures all over the ship!!

We got tired of exploring and we wanted some FOOD! I was oh so ready to get used to this 24 hour eating thing!!! Haha!

We stopped by at Goofy's and I got some fruit and a roll of some sort...

Jason went and got this drink for me and him to share....it was non-alcoholic because we don't drink. lol!

This was like the sail away freez or something..omg it was SO GOOD! It was half strawberry and half pina colada mix! Yum!!

I forgot to say, I was wearing about 4 or 5 bracelets on my arm because Jenny had lost hers. Well, I randomly ran into WAKHomom and she gave some more to me to give to Jenny. I didn't have any pockets, so that's where they ended up! lol!

Ok so going on....

After eating and enjoying our drinks, we decided to find a spot for the Sail Away party! yay!

We got a very good spot on the top deck.

I was very impressed with those CM's on the cruise staff! They had SUCH high energy the ENTIRE time! I would have been pooped out!!! lol!

This was a cute and fun party!

Before too long, we heard the horn...when you wish upon a star! I was so excited! I had dreams...seriously....before we left that I missed that horn! I was so scared we wouldn't hear it! lol!

You can barely see them, but that's the people waving with Mickey hands from the terminal. They were waving SO HARD...it was cute!

YAY! Tell everybody we're on our way....

We were so excited!!

My husband and I stayed in the same category on our first Wonder cruise. We booked the same on our second and were then surprised by an upgraded to Cat 9 w/ window which was grand!

We don't drink either and the non alcoholic mixes are quiet good actually!

Thank You so much for your report it's helping my healing process from surgery! We are not sailing until Jan so this really helps in the waiting as well!

just have to say again, LOVE the detail you are writing with, LOVE all the pictures, I have seen things in your pictures I've never seen before and I have been pouring over these boards since Jan of this year when I booked our very first cruise ever coming up in just 52 short days now!

Also wanted to say I snuck over and read your all girls brides tippie. I have dreams of going someday without the kids or DH but instead with friends. It sounded like a total blast. My favorite parts? The times that did not go perfectly and each and every one of them saw you laughing through them and having a ball! I would so do the same. . .with friends! With DH and 4 kiddos? Maybe not so much. .
