Well, this was one ressie I was nervous about, due to inconsistent reviews. I say "I' because I am both the vacation planner, and mucho worrywart:lmao:
Hubby could make do pretty much anywhere.

I booked this as a part of the Fantasmic! dinner package.

We arrived a little early, and waited about 20 minutes or so to be seated. Our server was Ken and he was FANTASTIC. We asked for his recommendations, and he ended up recommending what we were looking at anyways, so it was a win-win :rotfl:

For appetizers, we started off with the infamous Cobb Salad (Description off the menu at allears.net)
Our Famous Brown Derby Cobb Salad - with finely chopped greens, turkey breast, egg, bacon, tomatoes, crumbled bleu cheese, avocado, chives and Cobb dressing $15
This was DELISCIOUS, and could have easily been my entree! I would definitely order again.

Also, the crabcake
Blue Lump Crab Cake - with Potato Crust, Green Cabbage Slaw, Cognac Mustard Sauce, and Rémoulade $12.00

MOUTHWATERINGLY GOOD!!

For entrees, I had the grouper which was REALLY GOOD
And hubby had Tuna, which I no longer see as an entree option on the menu,,,but here are the pics!!

How am I doing so far? Shall I keep going?

This is one of our favorites…We try to make it here at least once each trip. This time, due to some confusion, we ate here twice. ( Oh no! :rotfl2:)
We are sushi lovers, and the sushi here does not disappoint!

We always start off with a brick oven flatbread…Well, tonight was no exception
Triple Cheese - Pecorino, Asiago, and Provolone with Sun-dried Tomato and Arugula Pesto* $12

All in all A+!

Great reviews! One of these days I'm going to try the cobb salad at Brown Derby. It looks so good:goodvibes

Ok.....We loved this restaurant in 2008, so we returned in 2009...While we loved it in '08, we found it "good" in 09...just not as good....We plan to return this year, so we shall see...

No appetizers tonight..

DH had the Tuna

Togaraski Spice Ahi Tuna - sticky rice, yuzu tobiko, wakame, soy-chili glaze, wasabi cream $36

He enjoyed it, but not as much as the tuna from Brown Derby.

I, on the other hand, LOVED my meal....I had the Lobster. popcorn::
I could eat my weight in both crab legs and lobster if they let me! :happytv:

Steamed Whole Maine Lobster - Drawn Butter, Potato Gratin, and Asparagus $58

Did the lobster come like that or did you ask them to crack it for you?

Did the lobster come like that or did you ask them to crack it for you?

It was cracked like that :thumbsup2

Up next: Our absolute FAVORITE : Citricos!

SO, we had an early dinner here, due to the fact that we were heading over to Mickey's Not so scary halloween party at the MK.
We arrived at 5:15, and were seated promptly at 5:30, which is when they begin serving dinner.
Chafik was our waiter, and we always request him when we visit Citricos.

We started with a really nice, light Pinot Noir

Followed by their AMAZINGLY good & addicting bread with sea salted butter...

5412488696_e6ce22afbd.jpg

For appetizers, we ordered
Gateau of Crab - Jumbo Lump Crab, Orange Fennel Cream, and Tomato Fennel Slaw $12.00
They even split everything for us into two smaller plates..Very cute :lovestruc

And, the Goat cheese truffle salad, which has been taken off the menu..So upset over this change :sad2: Each bite is like an explosion of goodness

At this point, I was stuffed, but had to make room for our fabulous entrees!

I had the Halibut, served over balsamic orzo. It was fantastic.....The combinations of all the flavors melted in your mouth.....

So.....Do you think I liked it?? :rotfl:

DH had the salmon. It was served over carmelized red onions, and brussel sprouts. I tasted this as well, and it was cooked to perfection.

5411879249_ef6d8f2640.jpg

As you can see, he liked his as well :rotfl2:

5411880211_4faea84300.jpg

At this point, I was very thankful I was wearing a loose fitted dress!! :lmao:
We were not planning on dessert , but they brought us some biscotti on the house..

5412491590_a9dd162444.jpg

LOVE this place! Never miss it, and it never disappoints!! :worship:

Off to the halloween party! I feel a pic would be appropriate, even though it is not food related! Enjoy.

Next up: Cali Grill X2- We venture into the unknown........

Well, I will say this: Had we stuck with the tried & true at California Grill, our sushi & flatbread, I think we would have been happy. However, we figured we would try entrees.

TO start, we had the goat cheese ravioli.... Now, I am a cheese lover. BIG TIME. I'm 100% italian. But these were TOO CHEESY! Overpoweringly cheesy, like, want to spit it out in my napkin cheesy. Get it? They were too cheesy! :lmao: They looked nice though!

5410750469_ea37d1fec4.jpg

For my entree, I decided to go with the scallops...Well, mistake #2. They tasted like they were ROLLED in salt... I tried a few , but I could not do it!!! They were SO SALTY. Again, they looked good though.

5412013303_78163f1938.jpg

DH had the filet . He enjoyed it for the most part, but agreed about the over-salting of the food. (And he usually adds salt to his food).
We do not like to send food back, so he ate it anyway. Every restaurant gets a free pass in my book, and we have been back since, and all was good :thumbsup2

They redeemed themselves with the chocolate cake they sent out for us. O.M.G. Chocoholics rejoice. THIS WAS HEAVEN :cloud9: and ended our evening quite nicely.

5412026283_fdf3b97cb8.jpg

We still had a nice evening, but the food could have been better.

Stay tuned for Captain's Grille for lunch & Jiko for dinner!

Great reviews and pictures! I think the sushi at California Grill is THE way to go! Like you, I wasn't nearly as impressed with some of their other food. Looking forward to reading more!

Not much to say about this. We try to have lunch here once each trip...We always get the lobster roll w/ steak fries. SO ORIGINAL! :rotfl2:
I ate half before I remembered the pic! Oh, the roll is SO buttery & yummy, FYI popcorn::

5414979076_0c7769a677.jpg

Next stop: Jiko for Dinner!

WOW! This was our first time at this restaurant, and most certainly will NOT be our last!!
First off, we were greeted VERY warmly, and congratulated on our engagement. Then we were whisked away to the wine room in the back. There was only one other couple back there...Very romantic, and we were staring at bottles of wine all night! What more could a gal ask for??
