Way to go Sammie, start a thread dealing with 2 DIS board no-no's; smoking and occupancy limits.
My home in NJ is kept cool year round, about 65-68. I don't sleep well in temps above 68 degrees. When I go "home" to DVC I want to be able to sleep well, so the thermostat is a BIG issue for me. I want to get a good nights sleep so I can enjoy the parks during the day!
COME ON? You aren't going to let people smoke on there balconies. I'm not a smoker but... That would be pretty bad. I have been in a NS room that someone did smoke in and it was very annoying to smell for the first 3 or 4 days until we aired it out but, if someone wants to got outside and do that who are we to judge.
Essentially all of the Marriott's (and ALL of the Westin's) are going or have gone NS. With a couple of exceptions, they are including smoking on the balcony in the Ban. Actually the only one I am aware of that isn't announced it would be all NS and have back tracked somewhat. In the timeshare world the rules are all over the place but I'd guess that overall smoking on the balcony is permitted when not allowed in the units.COME ON? I'm thinking that cramming six people smoking cigars on the balcony of a NS studio (with the door open of course) at noon on check out day (after illegally pool hopping to SAB and bring back pool towels) could be a problem?
Perhaps the only thing making it worse is if they were renters using morphed points that had been transferred twice.

But isn't there a rule somewhere against that......![]()
Ahhh, found it, the NSStCIGSABT&TEbayComRenPtMorf rule. It's on page 841 of your POS.![]()
I would like to see WDW go all non smoking. I was really upset one year at BWV when people were smoking at the main pool and I asked the lifeguard it it was allowed and she said it was. I was so surprised because I thought where is the most likely place you are going to find children except at a pool and they allow smoking. It did not make sense to me.
If you check-out late at a hotel, they will charge you an extra night!
Well, around here, there are also signs that prohibit smoking within 30 feet of an entrance. The smoking stations outside the MOA are 30 feet from any doorway. It helps a LOT!The Ritz Carlton in Boston is all non-smoking.
So everyone staying there gets to walk past the bunch of people on the side of the doors smoking.
That is what will happen when DVC goes non-smoking. People will be standing outside the entrances smoking. And it will be allowed, since the rule would most likely only cover indoors, like the ones here in NY.
