To my dearest friend, The Dis.
I hope this letter finds you well. As I realize that many years have passed since we last spoke, I am sure you are filled with many questions. But I write not to amuse you with the misadventures of my youth, but instead to chronicle the recent journeys of my adult life.
What I have for you is a story. A story filled with ships at sea, romance on deck, but more importantly adventures. Adventures that would have been impossible to even consider a mere fortnight ago. It is these adventures from which I believe you'll glean the man I've become.
No story is a true chronicle without a unique cast of characters, and this one focuses on merely a few. Forgive what would seem to be an egotistical statement, but I am only the second most important personality in this account.
dramatis personae
Your storyteller - Me. Over the course of this adventure, will reach my 29th year. I have seen the true nature of Man, scaled the hills of understanding and came down a more knowledgeable, if bitter man for it. I've destroyed the One Ring by tossing into the mountains of Mordor(wait, maybe not that last one). Throughout my duration, I've had acquaintances who've known me, friends who defined me, and loves that have ruined me.
Until now. You see, the impetus for this journey is my recent matrimony to a Muse of which no Grecian ever had the joy of being inspired by.
My recently betrothed - Red of hair, bright of smile. I am continually amazed that she stays by my side. On the 8th of February, we stood next to a lake of legend and she made me the happiest I have ever been.
After such a momentous occasion, tradition demands a journey. For such a journey, My wife and I recall the wonderful times we have had spent at sea.
So, our decision was to sail away to far-away lands, using the finest ship to sail, the Disney Magic. As we were familiar with the ship itself, that allowed us to fully experience that which was full of wonder surrounding us.
So, stick with this chronicle, dear friend. As it promises to have fun, sadness, adventures, and plenty of illustrations provided by the little red-haired girl I convinced to call herself my own.
