Beth's Journal-Bring It!

Well, I am bck.

I am not sure why I thought my life would be back to normal after the party. It is still crazy busy. Hey wait, that is normal for me.

The party was a complete success. The cake turned out ok. It wasn't as polished as I would have liked. Katie loved it, and I got a few compliments on it. It was frosted with yellow frosting with pink detailing. Katie's favorite colors. The rain held off for the party, but it was cold. The kids had a blast. As the kids arrived, they decorated crowns. Then we went on a quest. The kids ran through cones(Maze) up and over a mountain (slide), under a table(deep dark cave),jump on the mini trampoline to reach the magic potion (soccer baall) to kill the dragon (soccer goal), jump on lilypads over the moat to the castle(moonwalk). The kids did great. It was bedlam, but so much fun. The girls made neclaces while the boys decoratd their swords and shields. The sandbox was open for sand castles and I had a bubble table. Instead of pin the tail on the donkey, we played plant the kiss on the frog prince. Cake, ice cream, presents, and more moonwalk. The pary was supposed to be 2.5 hours. No one left before 530.I found out that Hannah had a party on Saturday (Her mom was the one who blew up at me over scheduling a party on her daughter's bday) Katie wasn't invited, which is fine. I had 2 moms amd 4 kids saay that Katie's party was more fun. It is petty of me to admit that I was pleased. Next BIG party is at 10. Between and ten she can have a couple a friends over for activities.

I am so far off program that it is in another time zone. Katie gets to have whatever she wants for dinner on her bday tomorrow, so it is pizza. It is my final sendoff before restarting induction. I have gained major weight, but know that I will get it off again. I am finally starting to feel better, and the doc cleared me to work out.

Plan for the day....
Dance class.
Lunch at Olive Garden with Katie.
Drive 1.5 hours to get Pez the Puppy.
Drive back home.
Play with Pez the Puppy.
Make 2 dozen dairy free, soy free, chocolate free, peanut free cupckes for Katie's preschool class Wednesday.
Take a walk.
Watch AI. (Katie is still devastated that Anthony was voted off.)

Ok, I am off to bed.

Take care,
Beth

Hey Beth! Was just on checking some new posts and saw your thread. I was going to call tomorrow and wish Katie a happy birthday, but it looks like you have a busy day planned. Sounds like Kate had a great birthday party! I do have to say that I'm glad we will be at WDW for Parker's 5th...it seems like a lot of work! New puppy huh? Can't wait to hear about that! Give me a call when you have a minute (I know those are few and far between!) Take care!

Oh boy,

The breeder just called. Pez has a sinus infection and was with the vet overnight. She doesn't want to send him ill. I totally agree. He has a long cr ride, but my little girl will be devastated. I am waiting for Won to get his butt down here to tell her. Meltdown will occur in T minus 10 minutes.

I also have to figure out something fun to do with Katie to make her day special.

I'll post bck later.
Beth

Poor Katie! It's hard to understand a sick puppy when you've been patiently waiting to bring him home. :( Maybe you could still visit him?? I know it's a long drive but it might help Katie feel better. I'm sure you'll find some way to make her day a special one.

Katie's party sounds like it was a rousing success! Pat yourself on the back, Beth, because you know it was your planning and your energy and your willingness to throw a wonderful party for her that made it special! :cheer2:

Hopefully things will calm down soon, although having a new puppy will come with its own chaos. Glad the doc cleared you for workouts. I think your time at the Y helps you with the stress, so it will be good to be able to get some good workouts in.

Hope your day is a great one and :bday: to dear princess: Katie! :sunny:

Oh Beth - I'm sorry to hear that Pez is sick! That really sucks! I hope Katie will understand and that the meltdown will be minimal.

Hi Beth!

I'm sorry to hear that Pez is sick. :( I hope he gets better soon so you and Katie can get him. ::yes:: Maybe you can visit Pez today or maybe you and Katie can go to the pet store and pick out a "get-well" gift for Pez.

Congratulations on a wonderful birthday party! I bet Katie is thrilled with how well it went and everyone has a ton of wonderful memories too! :goodvibes

Have a great day today, Beth! Take care and....

:bday: Katie!!!! :teeth:

Beth:

I'm so glad the party went well and Katie and the party goers had a great time! All your effort and planning paid off!

Poor little Pez - I hope he can get through his bug soon. When we picked up Nicklas he had just been getting over a bug (on Clavamox). He seemed fine, but then our other two cats came down with the bug and they were all on sulfa drugs for 3 weeks. You think getting humans to take their meds is tough...try kitties or puppies!

Tell Katie that Pez needs to be in perfect health so he'll be all right for lots of playtime.

I head back on induction with you...I need to be good about my eating too.

Hi Beth!! :)

I'm SO happy to hear that the parrty was a big success. And you know what? I'd be privately pleased as well if your party was better than the other. :rotfl:

I'm so sorry to hear about Pez...that just really stinks. I hope he gets better really soon...it breaks my heart when furbabies aren't feeling well!

Hey Beth - I'm slowly trying to get caught up on journals, so bare with me.

I'm so glad Katie's birthday party was a success. This is something they will always remember. Sorry to hear about the pup, but I understand that you wouldn't want a sick puppy around. Hopefully Pez (love that name) will recover quickly.

Hi Beth :)

So glad the party went off without a hitch! I bet Katie and her friends will always remember the neat things you did. I'm so sorry the puppy is sick :( I hope Katie will handle it ok and Pez will be home safe and sound with you soon!

Don't fret over the weight. You have your ok to get back in your workout routine, that will help tremendously. Happy induction :)

Hi All,

There has been a ton going on this week. Pez is fine, but due to scheduling issues we aren't picking him up until next week. That is ok with all of us.

Issue #1: Katie has friend, Vanessa. I can't stand this child. It isn't her fault. It is here home environment. She lives with her grandparents, her mom is currently in rehab. Vanessa is wild and knows things no 4.5 year old should know. I have been allowing her to play at our house, Katie doen't go over to her house. She is the only child Katie's age around during the day. Well, today Katie asked if they could go for a bike ride. I said sure. Well, I watch them going round the block, and Katie isn't wearing her helmet. Vanessa doesn't wear one, and she told Katie that only bbies wer helmets. OK, long talk with Katie, punishment, tears, etc... Katie isn't playing with Vanessa anymore. I am not blaming only Vanessa, but I have noticed changes in Katie's attitude in the last few weeks. This ws just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Issue #2: My weight. I have been way off program, and have only been ble to exercise since Wednesday. I have done great with the exercise, but food is still off. My weight this AM was 201.5. I am up 9.5 pounds. My plan for this is consistant exercise, back on induction today, and recommiting to the boards. I do much better when I can work on the boards. They need to be priority.

Issue #3. My schedule. I have 2.5 more weeks of this craziness. Won needs to help out more.

Ok, I need to go finsh off making dinner.

Take care,
Beth

Hi Beth--Just stopping by to see how you are doing--sorry i havent bene around much--with finals and vacation over ill be here !

:teeth: Hi Beth!

It sounds like you have been super busy! I hope that everything calms down for you soon and that you can get some rest and relaxation in. :cloud9:

I have a question for you: I know that we are both going to WDW in December. What "Disney" type things are you doing to pass the time? It seems so far away and my girls keep asking me when we are going. I plan on doing a countdown chain or calendar at some point, but probably not until we're 2 or 3 months out. Any suggestions?

I hope you have a great weekend! I hope you can post a picture of Pez when he comes home next week! :teeth:

:sunny: Good morning, dear Beth. :sunny:

The best investments we made when we got our doxie puppy were 2 baby gates so she could stay gated in the kitchen and a small flexible metal exercise pen that we could put up or take down quickly to keep her with us downstairs or outside. These two things kept her safe and helped keep our sanity. Do you have plans on containing Pez to one area of the house in the beginning so he isn't overwhelmed? Glad he'll be coming home with you sometime this week - how exciting!

Best wishes for a great Monday and a return to healthy living. Sounds like a lot of us are getting back into the swing of things. Hang in there and do your best - the weight will come off. ::yes::

Hi Beth,

My name is Jen, I'm new here! Just wanted to say hi, and I'm enjoying reading your journal! I was reading one post you said "I have to find a way to make Katies day special"...that was so great, I try to do that for my children as often as possible...special days are a good thing :)

ok, need to run, but wanted to post and say hi!

Jen

Hi Beth,

Sorry I haven't been around much. Good luck with the new puppy. We are tossing around the idea of getting a dog but have a way to go before we can agree. Hope you are well. Take care.

Hi all,

Well, I blew induction Sunday and Monday. THings were just ugly. 2 of the nurses had a screaming match at the desk. Real professional. The tension all night as horrible, we took 9 admits(3 were codes) and I binged. I endd up with a migraine. No sleep yesterday, so I told Won to bring home dinner. We had pizza. I didn't even care. I was in bed at 730.

12 hours of sleep later, I feel ready to try this thing again. Today I restart induction, again.

Plan for the day...
1. Dance class.
2.) Pick up PEZ the Puppy.
3.) Clean the kitchen.
4.) Clean the bathroom.
5.) Catch up on journals.

Meals...
B: 2 scrambled eggs, 1 oz cheese, and tea.
L:bunless double cheeseburger from McDonalds.
S: String cheese.
D: Chicken Ceasar saad.

Today is the 10th anniversary of Won's grandfather's death. THey are having a momorial dinner tonight. Won is going. He expects to be home around 11pm. He will undoubltedly be pissed off and grumpy. It should be pleasant.

I'm off.
Beth

BTW, Doe, our house is really open on the main floor. Baby gates just aren't possible. I am going to look for a playpen though. Thanks for the suggestion.
