Beth's Journal-Bring It!

Hi Beth,

I can relate to the kid sister thing. I get along really well with my sister, but she definitely holds major grudges for the mean things I did as a big sister growing up. I wish it could just come to the surface and we could get it overwith, but I doubt that will ever happen. Subtle jabs even come from my niece who has heard the history through my sisters perspective. I'm glad you survived. Don't sweat the gain, it was caused by extenuating circumstances and it will come right back off. You'll have your clippie back before you know it :wizard: Whoosh Fairy is on the way :wizard:

Hey, Beth, I just wanted to stop by and say hi. :wave2: Thanks for stopping by my journal and offering me encouragement. You know I appreciate it.

I was glad to hear that the procedure went well. Now just remember to listen to the dr. and refrain from exercising for the FULL TWO WEEKS! You've been in this healthy living game long enough to know that those stray pounds will come off and you'll be back to feeling like yourself soon.

Have a good Wednesday--
Erin

Hang in there Beth and keep eating OP! You will be back to where you were and lower in NO time!!! I know it is hard to refrain from your exercise, but you NEED to, so "just do it!" :cheer2:

Take good care of yourself Beth. Enjoy your "extra" time with Katie and Won! :goodvibes

Morning Beth! I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Keep taking it easy on yourself so that your body can heal. You will be back into the swing of things in no time!

Hi Beth!

Stopping by to say hello and to see how you are doing... I hope that you are doing well! Take good care of you and have a wonderful Wednesday! :sunny:

Hi everyone, Thanks for stopping by. I love visits.

Well yesterday I didn't do any form of activity. I picked up the living room and cleaned the kitchen. I also planned Katie's bday party. I am really excited for her. We invited 14 kids. It is a disney princess party, but boys are invited. I think we came up with ideas that won't weird them out. When the kids arrive they get temporary tattoos on their cheek nd then they can decorate their crowns for the party. I bought the gems to glue on and glitter and glitter glue. We will then do an obstacle coarse. I bought some green foam paper. They have to jump an the "lilly pads" around the castle moonwalk, climb the mountain(our old little tykes slide), go through a cave(parachute tunnel) go threough the maze(run through some cones) and kick a bomb into the snoring dragons mouth(Soccer ball into soccer goal) Fastest time wins a prize. They can do the moonwalk at any time. I also have beads for the princesses to make jewelry and the knights can decorate cardboard shields. We will also play simon says(queen says) for prizes. The cake is going to be 2 13x9 inch cakes stacked. I am also baking a 8x8 cake and cutting it into quarters. Each square will be put in a corner of the larger cake. I'll ie the whole thing, then put foil covered sugar cones with ribbon streamers coming out of the points on the "tower" of the cake. Graham cracker drawbridge, gum drop lattice work around the top, and cookie windows make a castle cake.

We've also bought Katie a puppy for her bday. Won is the one allergic to dogs, and it was his idea. He figures he is on claritan all year anyways, might as well make his daughter happy. We are getting a black male miniature schnauzer. They are less allergenic, and we should be able to pick im up on Katie's actual bday,May 17th. She does know she is getting the dog, but thinks it won't be until the end of summer.

I did go to the Y today for LIGHT walking. I walked for 40 minutes before I got bored. After my shower, I am headed to the bookstore for a book on what to do with a dog. We had them as kids, but I was never the one responsible. While my DH claims he will do all the clean u andtraining, I know better. I better be prepared.

Gotta run. I'll check in this afternoon and eveining.
Beth

That sounds like the most awesome party ever! Can I come? :teeth: Your DD is very lucky to have a mom to go to such efforts for her--that's going to be a blast!

Congrats on your puppy!

Hope you're having a great day!!! :flower:

Oh my gosh, what an AWESOME party!! Wow, I wish I had parties like that when I was a kid!!! princess:

What a sweet thing to do for your dd with the puppy...she's gonna be so excited!!

Have a FABULOUS Wednesday!! :goodvibes

Beth:

What a wonderful mom you are! The party sounds like a wonderful time. I love the idea of the shields for the boys. And that cake! You will have to post pictures.

A puppy - what a treat! I was about Katie's age when I got a puppy from the pound. He was a wonderful friend for many many years. He slept right on the foot of my bed until he was ill with cancer. My mother still gets misty when she thinks of him.

Have a wonderful time and I'm so glad you are able to use your "down time" so effectively!

-Laurie

Dear Beth, you always amaze me! The plans for the birthday party sound awesome!! I'll be crossing my fingers for wonderful weather so the kids can be outside, running off all that energy!

On the subject of puppy books, I highly recommend anything by Brian Kilcommons, especially "Good Owners, Great Pets". The mini schnauzer sounds adorable!! We will NEED pics of the puppy, so be prepared with the camera, OK? :p

I'm happy to hear you were doing LIGHT walking. You know how I feel about over-exercising. :p You're doing a great job of staying mildly active while still honoring your body's need for rest and recuperation time. Bravo!!

Hope today is a good one! :sunny:

Boy am I getting a late start. Katie decided to sleep in, and I did too.

Last night I didn't get to too many journals last night becuse the boards were so slow. Sorry, if I didn't make it to yours.

I am definately feeling more in control of my eating. I hae managed to stay lc for a few days, and it is coming naturally to me. I will admit that the nutter butters in the cupboard are still calling me, but I have resisted. I am not going to the Y today. katie and I can go for a walk/bike ride instead. It is finally sunny again.

Plan for the day...
Laundry.
a trip to Costco-I need ring pops, juice boxes, and princess fruit chews for the party.
JoAnn fabrics and Target stop.
Bookstore stop. Thanks for the suggestion Doe.
Clean at least 1 bathroom.
Journals on and off.

I will get Won to help me post some pics of Katie and her cake and the puppy. Katie is leaning towards calling the dog, Pupcorn. I told her she needs to meet the puppy first, but I think it is stuck in her head. We get to visit on Tuesday afternoon. THe camera is definately coming.

Ok, I need to get SOMETHING accomplished. I am off.

later,
Beth

Dang Girl! You can plan my children's parties any day! LOL! Katie is going to have an absolute blast!!! Be sure to tell us all about it.

~Amanda

Beth, we are so alike. I had a princess party for Michelle years ago. The cake was a castle, complete with road with horse drawn carraige going up to it. The turrets were sugar ice cream cones covered with frosting and then rolled in edible sparkles. You can find edible sparkles with the Wilton Cake making supplies in craft stores. Just another idea for you! ;)

Sounds like you are getting back OP slowly but surely. Good for you. Continue to be gentle to yourself Beth, you need it! The weekend is just around the corner and you will need your strength. :flower:

Hope you get much accomplished today. That is a very ambitious list! :earseek:

TTFN - Sharon :sunny:

Wow, girl, that's quite a list!! How'd you do on that?

Good job resisting the nutter butters!!

I managed to get everything done!!! And I got the goodie bags put together.

This is my parents Bday and anniversary week. It is tradition that the entire family gets together for the weekend. Well, this year we just can't swing it. Being contingent, I don't get sick or vacation time. No work=no pay. With Katie's bday and recital coming up, I ned to work. My parents are coming to get Kate at 1PM. Josh and Marnie are bringing Camden. BTW, Marnie lost the baby. I think I forgot to mention that. It is really sad, but the timing was completely off. Anyways, I work Friday and Saturday. Sunday morning Won and I head up to Frankenmuth and we'll meet for brunch. Katie gets to swim all weekend and bond with her extended family. I get to clean up poop.

I am headed for bed. I jsut didn't make it to any journals this week. I am so sorry. You guys are the ygreatest, and I don't feel like I am contribting much lately.

Plan for tomorrow.

Drop Katie off at school, then head to the Y for 30 minutes of walking.
Quick shower and pack Katie's stuff for the weekend.
Lunch.
My parents pick her up at 1PM.
NAP!!!
Work 7p-8A.

I will try to get to a couple journals tomorrow. I am definately thinking about you all.

Take care and have a great weekend!
Beth

Hey Beth,

I'm sorry for your sister and her family.

Glad you are feeling better. I didn't know you were prn. I thought you had taken a position. I can relate about the no work=no pay thing. I haven't been around much either. Too much going on here, plus my head just isn't in a place where I can journal much and there is no explanation for it! :confused3 Anyway, hope you have an uneventful weekend at work. Take care.

Hi Beth,

Katie is gonna have one awesome, wonderful, fantastic party! princess: :cloud9:

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. How is she doing?

I hope you have a great weekend! Happy Birthday and Anniversary to your parents!

Aw, Beth, that stinks about your sister. . .I'm sorry for all of you.

Please promise me you'll pace yourself this weekend. No heavy lifting, OK?

The party sounds magical! :wizard: You've got some awesome ideas! You know, if you ever give up the nursing thing, you could be a party planner/travel agent. . . :p just a thought!

I'm so excited for Katie and your little schnauzer. I was always allergic to animals as a kid, but I tolerated our schnauzers just fine. Won may even develop immunities to it in time (like I did with a cat we once had when we were first married.) I'll bet your Pupcorn is going to be just adorable!

Take care, and don't give one more thought to journaling all around. Whatever you manage is fine; you know that!

Erin

Dear Beth, I totally agree with Erin. Please don't feel bad about not getting around to journals. You've supported me so often - take the time you need for yourself. Just pop into your journal once in a while to update us on how things are going and leave it at that.

I'm so sorry for Marnie and her family. How heartbreaking. :(

I am happy that Katie will be off having a fun weekend and that you will be able to get the rest you need between shifts. Enjoy Sunday with your family!

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry for your sister and her family. How incredibly heartbreaking. :(

Dn't you for a second worry about these journals. Right now it's YOU time...take this time to take care of yourself and rejuvinate. We'll all be here when you're ready.
