I sit here day after day and read about DIS folks trying to find good airfare prices. I am the type of person sometimes I squeeze my pennies so tight even Lincoln cries
. Anyhow, I have posted on here before about bestfares.com website and the fare finder. I was just nosing thru there this morning due to all of the hullabaloo regarding airfare and how it is rising. I find a lot of good airfares on there. Keep in mind, some of those listed are for "members only" on Bestfares but by golly....its only $59.00 to become a member!! If it could mean a savings of several hundred dollars on your airfare its worth it. Personally, I just went on ahead and joined because I have several upcoming trips. I'm thinking of a Hawaiian cruise next year and found air out of Indy for $509.00 RT. That's not bad for that far of a trip.
If you would like to read what I am talking about...go to the website. Down the left side of the screen it says "quickfare finder". You just fill in the where from and where too. If its listed with a carrier then just go to their website and play around to find it. If its listed as a "member only" fare...well then you would have to join to get that fare. I was checking it about 1 month ago for my trip the Disney this summer and stumbled across fare for $121 RT each from Cincy so I jumped on it. I did, however, have to extend my trip two more days. (twist my arm...lol). We were planning on leaving on Sunday but the fare was from Friday to Friday so we just changed our plans. You may even have to book your fare then rebook your rooms to coincide with your air (we did). It would almost seem easier to book the fare first then your room (unless you are hitting a holiday of course) with the fluxuating airfare costs.
Anyhow, I hope this helps someone on here. I am just extrememly frugal with my money (I work really hard for it in an emergency room) and I like to save anywhere I can. I do a great deal of research on everything. Somehow..I just never thought it would be airfare...
good day, and good luck...
