We're staying at the HRH and since neither of us have been there before, I am relying on your experience to tell me which restaurants are must-see (and must-eat?) and which ones do you think we should avoid (must-never-eat?)??

Also, are there any good places to eat at US/IOA?

Thanks!!!

Mythos is a must try. Wonderful food and nice atmosphere. Not too expensive.

I would avoid the Sunset Grill for dinner at HRH. We had a bad experience there last year. But the Beach Club by the pool is great for a casual, pool side meal. Hard Rock Cafe is fun.

Our favorite meals from our recent trip were at Hard Rock Cafe and Margaritaville.

MYTHOS in IOA is the best. We also like the Latin Quarter. We had some good lunches at Lombard's Landing in US.

For some good Italian food give Mama Della's a try next door at Portofino. I agree with all the other suggestions! Those are the steady favorites.

Oh no! What was wrong? We loved this place and had most of our meals there. It was before you went so I'm wondering if something changed? I really loved the menu and the place is so attractive and even better the food was great. I havent heard much about it lately on the boards either

I agree with Jessica, we really liked the Sunset Grill and we were there in December. The character meal was great.

We did have fun at the Sunset Grill. We went on a night when there was a magician performing table magic. He was very good and we really enjoyed him. We were just disappointed in the food. Several members of our party ordered hamburgers (which was probably a mistake, but we're talking about very picky eaters and everything else was too exotic for their tastes). The burgers were not ordered rare, but they came literally dripping blood. The bottom buns were soaked through and falling apart. It was gross. We didn't make a big fuss, but the server reported it to the manager and she came and offered everyone at our table desserts, which I thought was nice. But then none of us liked the desserts. The chocolate cake was very dry and the bisquit used for the strawberry shortcake was hard as a rock.

Like I said, even though we didn't like the food, we didn't let it stop us from having a good time. We enjoyed the entertainment very much and the waitress and manager were very nice. This did happen a year ago...it may have been a new cook, or an off night. I don't want to discourage anyone else from trying it. We just didn't like it, and with so many other options available, we probably wouldn't go back.

I have to agree that Sunset Grill is not worth the money. The food was not bad but it wasn't good either. We were there last August and it was definitely one of our least memorable meals. The character meal consisted of Woody Woodpecker and Scooby Doo (I think...as I said it really was not memorable.)

Mythos is excellent. We also thought Margaritaville was a lot of fun with really good food.

Have a great time!

I'm afraid I have to agree with the negative comments on Sunset Grill.

When it first opened, it was smashing, with a chef lured from Disney. But she's gone back to Mickey's fold and the food has never been the same.

If you like loud steakhouses, there's the Palm, but I think the restaurants at PBH and RPR are much better. Delfino Riviera at PBH for that romantic splurge. Mama Della's (also at PBH) for fun Italian family-style fare.

Islands Dining Room and Emeril's Tchoup Chop at RPR are also very good.
