Best & Worst From Our 11 Day Stay !!!

We just returned from our annual Christmas stay last week and I have some quick comments about the places we ate. I will post more detailed reports later.


Best Restaurant - Jiko @ Animal Kingdom Lodge

Best Starter or Appetizers - Tie Rose & Crown Pub ( Mushroom Medley )
Artist Point ( Smoky Portobello Soup )

Best Surprise - Sci-Fi Dinner ( Flat Iron Steak Sandwich )
Kringla og Bakeri ( School Bread )

Best Burger - Beaches & Cream / Had them 3 times during our stay.

Best Dessert - Sticky Toffee Pudding @ Rose & Crown Pub

Best We Could Not Get Enough Of - French Toast Loaf @ Main St. Bakery

Best Entree - Jiko ( Wood Grilled Pork Tenderloin )

Best Pizza - Portobello Yacht Club ( Quattro Formaggi White Pizza )

Best Breakfast - Boatwright's ( Sweet Potato Pancakes )

Worst Restaurant - Olivia's

Worst Entree - Olivia's ( Penne Pasta w / Asiago Cheese )
Artist Point ( Hatfield Pork Chop )

Worst Service - Olivia's

Most Overpriced Entree - Mama Melrose ( Eggplant Napoleon ) $14.99 for
Three little slices of Eggplant and a handful of
beans.


And Finally ---

Best Margarita - San Angel Inn ( Boy was it good )

Since we often go to Old Key West (only eaten at Olivia's twice so far), I'm interested in what happened to make your experience there so bad. Glad to hear B&C burgers are still good.

Simba's Mom - What made our experience at Olivia's so bad was everything. We waited forever to get our drinks and then we had to ask more than once for refills. We ordered our pasta dinners and I kid you not 5 minutes later they were at our table. They were cold and the pasta was semi hard ( like it had been sitting around awhile ) which I'm sure it had. I know for a fact it takes more than 5 minutes to prepare an entree. We Than sent the pasta back to be heated ( which I'm sure they did by sticking it in the micro-wave). After we were done with our pasta and ready to pay our bill and leave our so called waitress brings dinner rolls to our table. It was the worst experience we ever had at a WDW restaurant.

Fun review!

I had made a mental note of the eggplant napolean on the menu of Mama Melrose's for our next trip because I thought it sounded really good. I'm glad to know that it's not worth the $$.

OK, what's a french toasr loaf? you got my attention with that one.

BCV23 - The pork chop at Artist Point was way overcooked, you could hardly chew it. We had to send the first one back and the second one was not much better.

Digger In FLA - French Toast Loaf is several half slices of toast put together and baked in the oven, it is so good.......

Sorry you had a bad experience at Olivia's. We have always had good meals and service there.

We'll be at OKW in August and I planned on a few meals at Olivia's (which always gets great reviews from the folks here). I'm hoping your experience was an isolated event - although I'm sorry you had to endure it!

And don't those San Angel margaritas blow you away! So tasty, especially on a hot summer day.
