Best Western Plus Park Place Inn

From that map and the information I have found, it appears that the rooms facing the park, over the lobby, are standard rooms with two full beds. The two queen suites have a pool view. I find this a huge drag as I wanted a park view and don't want to hear noise from the pool. :(

How can you tell these are standard rooms? I just looked at at the map and can't tell from it what room types any of them are.

Any one have trouble with the size of the bed, how much of a deal is it to be in a double not a queen bed?

I would love to know this too, although I think I would like the additional space you would have from the 2 queen suite.

We talked and chose the two full beds, it's not going to be to bad. But we did book our room with getaway today so we are ready to go this dec. I have heard the rooms can book up fast so I am happy to have chosen. A better breakfast, nicer place, location, Over desert inn. We will see what one wins out after the trip. I'll make a post between the two cons and pros of both.

I looked at reviews on Trip Advisor and some mentioned they could see the fireworks from their standard room. And since those appear to be the smallest rooms on the map, I would imagine that the front rooms over the lobby are the ones with two full beds. I may have made a mistake in my guess that the ones around the pool are the queen suites. Perhaps they are HA?

Can't beat the location and we have always really enjoyed the breakfast. It is our go to hotel.

I really enjoyed the DIS Unplugged podcast / blog by Tom last spring. (Bamboo. Why does it always have to be bamboo?)

We have reservations for mid-August at BWPPI and were hoping for some recent reviews. The Harbor rooms are intriguing. Any new intel?

I skimmed through what had been said last year about the BWPPI in this thread and it still largely seems to apply. I stayed there in late May (Memorial Day weekend) and I don't think anything has really substantially changed over the last few years. They did finish remodeling the lobby, so it looks clean and new. They also finished the remodel of the breakfast room, so that it has more seating and a more open floor plan, but the food offerings are still largely the same.

I can't comment on whether anything has changed with the rooms that face onto Harbor Blvd because my family didn't like the room when we were offered one (noisy), so we haven't been back to one of those recently. The other rooms that we've stayed in have largely looked the same from trip-to-trip.

Just booked this hotel today for our 2nd trip in March 2107. We stayed at the HoJo's during our first trip in 2009. While I know it's not that far away, we were dying during that "long" walk back at night. ;)

I told DH then that if we ever went back, we were going to stay right across from the entrance! Little did I know that DH would have a conference to attend in Las Vegas the following week. We did the drive there from LA in 2009 and are looking forward to doing it again. I'm sure I wouldn't say that if we had kids with us, but since it's just us two mid-60s Disney-loving kids...:)

We stayed there a couple weeks ago. They continue to be a solid option for us. We do not eat their breakfast and I do not know about the Harbor rooms. Overall BWPPI is still a place I recommend for folks who value proximity and a decent room.

Does anybody have any recent thoughts on their pillows? I'm staying here for the first time in a couple weeks, and I'll bring my own pillow if they're still "like little rocks". I didn't mind the pillows at Tropicana or Camelot, for comparison.

We went last nov-dec time and we did get the bigger bedrooms we needed it beds needed bigger but it was awesome. I really didn't have any problems that I can remember off top my head. We did decide if we don't have dvc we will always stay here. I was just telling fam how good it was today too because they had to stay in redding or Anderson northern cali and they said they chose best western because they always like it. So I told them this one was good too.

Oh yah, I forgot about the pillows. I do not remember issues with them in the past but our trip a couple weeks ago had uncomfortably hard pillows. I wish we had our own with us.

That's good to know. I'm not a fan of big, overly-stuffed pillows. They hurt. I like a decently stuffed and thin pillow. But I'd imagine returning from a day at DL, after tossing and turning for about 30 seconds, I wont' know the difference anyway.

We are staying here for the first time in September and I appreciate all the info! It's our first time staying off property... So while I'm happy about the proximity to the parks I am nervous about getting through security in the morning. Also the breakfast sounds decent but is it CRAZY busy making it not worth it? Is it possible to get food then eat in your room or on your way to get through security?
