Best Western Park Place Inn or Desert Inn?

Please, I need your help! I just can't seem to decide between the two. I need a place that has 3 beds (or 2 beds + sofabed). I don't want to make my teen/young adult son & daughter share a bed. So, I'm looking at the mini suite at Best Western Park Place Inn or the parlor suite at Desert Inn and Suites. I originally thought the 3 queen room at Park Vue Inn but after the bug situation I've been reading about that one is out. I really want something right across the street this time, that's why I'm focused on these two.

Our trip isn't until June 2013, but I've heard the suites book up fastest so I wanted to lock something down now. The BWPPI is $179 a night and has a 1/2 wall separating the 2 beds from the sofa bed. The DI is $139 a night and has a door separating the beds from the sofa.

What are your thoughts? Please help me decide! Thanks!

We have stayed at BWPPI on our last two trips, and it is now our go to spot to stay on our DLR trips. It has always been clean, quiet, and really, really close. The breakfast isn't superb, but it is fine for some quick food to start your day. The downsides are outdated decor, spotty wifi, small pool, and tight parking. These things aren't significant to us...we care more about the cleanliness and the proximity. Also for the five of us, the room size works well, and my kids are the teen/young adult age as well.

That's very helpful information. Does the sofa bed seem to be comfortable? Thanks!

We have stayed at both and I would just go with the cheaper one. Both are clean and close to the park and offer free breakfast. Both charge for parking. DI&S also has a $4 per day resort fee so factor that in to your price also.

The sofa bed at BWPPI is fine for a child but I dont think a teen or adult would be comfortable sleeping in it...though my father in law did but that man can sleep anywhere!

For us the desert inn works best because the suite has a door seperating the rooms, not just a wall. I am not a napper but my husband and kids are.
Otherwise I would say go with the cheapest.

Thanks! Do you know if the sofa bed at DI&S is any better?

The two sofa beds we've had at DI&S, were slightly better than the two sofa beds we've had at BWPPI. I personally won't sleep on either one but I couldn't feel the springs in the DI&S ones as much I could in the BWPPI ones. I laid down on them when reading DD her bedtime story.

So yes, DI&S are better in my experience, but only slightly better. Still not adult worthy...though I admit we are making my 26yr old BIL sleep on the DI&S one next month. :rotfl2:

I heard that BWPPI improved on their breakfast offerings by adding some hot items: sausage and egg patties and waffles.

Yes, they did add those hot items. It works for a breakfast sandwich. I'm not much of a sausage person, but others in my family liked having hot choices.

I wouldn't want to sleep on the sofa bed, but my teen son thought it was comfortable, and he was happy to not have to share a bed with his brother.
