With all the changing weather around WDW, what do you find as the most reliable app/service that predicts the weather ?

My knees

The serious answer is that Florida weather is so unpredictable that any longer range forcast isn't highly reliable. Like CAS239 said, I'll check weather.com that day and look at the radar. Beyond that, it's just a guess.

Predict how far in advance? Honestly, weather can't be predicted very far in advance at all. Not with any real accuracy. You can however get an idea of something with about an hour or so using DarkSky

I also recommend looking at local news stations, and not just national stations or apps. I usually "like" local weather stations on Facebook a few weeks before traveling...however, with Florida weather, I don't even count on that most of the time. It's just an awkward weather place. It could be pouring in one park and sunny in another.

I also use weather.com But I also look at the radar and make my own judgements for the hour by hour guess about when it is going to rain.

It could be pouring in one park and sunny in another.

Yup... seen this happen. Those summer downpours can be very tricky to predict.

Unless it's a large weather event like a tropical storm of some kind, there is little you can predict with much accuracy. Summer will be hot and humid with storms likely every day, winter will be cool to cold with occasional rain.

I live in FL, from NY originally. Pretty much guaranteed if you come mid/late march-early november you wear summer clothes and bring a poncho. Dec-feb you'll probably need a sweater/light jacket for the early morning/evening hours.
FL has some of the most predictable weather.

I like to look at Accuweather if rain is predicted. It predicts how many hours it will rain and how much. Like others have said, I doubt anything is accurate. But if the weather channel says there's an 80% chance of precip, it sure feels better to see it's only predicted to rain for 1 hour in the afternoon. Helps calm my nerves! :umbrella:

http://www.clickorlando.com/weather/attractions is a pretty good starting point for just the disney property, has a great 24 hour and a video clip where you can get a better idea of what the future couple days is going to be in case you need to shift around your plans to suite both the weather and when it's expected in the day...

Things however change. Not all storms move into the area and some form over central florida (the humidity has to eventually come back down). A good news app that has alerts is very worthwhile to look into. the interesting thing is you don't really need one specific to the florida area as news outlets are generally chains operating in many areas and feeding worldwide data into the same apps.. it really comes down to the features. aka, if you have one for your area that you think is great, it'll probably be just as great when gps finds you at disney.

If your interested in some more local news in central florida apps see the news 6 series of apps found at http://www.clickorlando.com/news/download-free-apps-from-news-6 which works fairly well. also an app called news 13 plus has been referenced by the disunplugged podcast in the past. Sometimes it's great to know and be alerted that it's not just some 20 minute storm but one that is bringing in hail or a large amount of lightning and you should be taking being inside more seriously with short notice. but in general they work really great to get hour by hour also in case your wondering why it's suddenly rain cloud looking and what to expect from it.

a feather tied to a string and hanging from a stick ...
feather is wet -- raining
feather is moving --- windy
feather is invisible -- night
feather is white and covered in ice --- OOPS

Sorry, just in one of those moods tonight. You've got some great answers above but i thought some levity could help --- we usually look at the long range and couple that with a general idea of what the *typical* patterns are for that time of year. We always bring shorts/capris, jeans, t-shirts, sweaters/hoodies, ponchos. If we're coming in the winter --- we will have a few heavier items but even a cold day in Disney will NEVER be as cold as it is at home (there was one day when the TV was telling us that it was in fact warmer in Anchorage that day however --- i think the feather would have been stiff that day!!)
