Best Ways To Get To Non Disney Parks From Our DVC

We are going through the point charts to plan our "possibly" DCL cruise. We'd be staying at the least expensive DVC point wise to save points before, or after the cruise. Of course that would be OKW, and a fave of ours. Or not cruise and just use our DVC as a home base to do other FLA attractions for a week. So my question is, what is the best/ least expensive transportation from our DVC to the other Orlando parks, Sea World, Universal, etc. Possibly the Kennedy Space Center?
Should we rent a car? Call a Taxi? What are the options that others on here use?
Thanks ahead of time, we are doing our best to stay on budget.

I think renting a car would be the best way. You will come out cheaper vs taking a cab. If I'm not mistaken its about a $35 cab ride from Disney to either Seaworld or Universal. Public transportation may take too long.

Thanks, we are considering a rental car.

With all those trips you are going to absolutely want to rent a car! Taxis will be far more expensive than renting a car.

While I have just taken a cab from AKV to get to Universal for 2 days, I think for what you are planning, a rental car would be best. It would be much cheaper too.

We have rented a car, used Mears shuttles, and taken a cab, but have not gone over there recently.

It's worth it to crunch the numbers. Renting a car gives you the most flexibility, but you have to pay for parking at Universal. Not sure how much that costs these days.
