Just filling out some paper work for closing and need to send it back with my final check payment. What is the quickest, safest and cheapest way to send this back. When I sent my downpayment in I used first class mail USPS. Now we are talking more $$$ and a cashiers check which if is lost, I don't think you can put a stop on. advice?

I'm surprised that you didn't receive a prepaid FedEx envelope to return your stuff in with your paperwork...we received 2 more than we actually needed - LOL.

It's probably just best to go with a fully insured, trackable package rate. What's a couple bucks when you're spending thousands? Good luck!! :goodvibes

I sent mine UPS with a tracking number. It arrived the next day. I wire transferred the money for another contract, and it ended up being more expensive than a cashiers check and a UPS box.

Definitely use FedEx or UPS and not the USPS. We sent ours overnight with USPS and they LOST it for over a day. It was guaranteed delivery by noon and when it hadn't shown up by 1pm I was starting to panic. The post office was anything but helpful and told me it would have to be missing for at least 2 days before they would do anything about it...including LOOK for it. Thankfully, it did get delivered, and on time, but they had no knowledge of it until a day later because it didn't get scanned out of the Orlando Sort facility like it should have.

It would cost a fortune to insure a package for the amount of the check. It can't be cashed by anyone except the designee. I sent mine via FedEx..... 2nd and 3rd day delivery isn't too expensive. You can also require a signature upon receipt.

When buying from Disney direct you get a prepaid FedEx envelope to return your paperwork and check or you can pay by credit card. (We called in the credit card information -- wanted those extra reward points and we paid off the card the next month.)

When buying resale you pay for returning the initial bid and closing documents and certified check (that's two mailings you have to pay for). I guess it's not part of the closing cost.

My guide gave us the Fed Ex account number to use to send the check. Just make sure you have the right address. He gave us the old address and thank goodness I called to ask a question and they realized I had the wrong address. Even if you send it to the wrong address, the will forward to the new one.

The OP probably purchased resale.

Yes I purchased resale. Ended up sending out a 6K plus cashiers check via USPS express. This was next day service, with tracking, for about $17. I declined insurance. If I knew how to do it, I would probably have wired money instead. Either way, they got it and closing is in a day or so! :cool1:
