Best way to pay while in parks

as long as you can keep yourself in check with spending, Magic bands all the way. They make charging to the room so easy.

I agree very easy, too easy, LOL. I like to be sure of what I am being charged for and every disney vacation turns into a whirlwind of activity. when there is a huge list of charges at the end of the vacation I have no choice but to just blindly accept the charges because I can no way remember everything I purchased.......having to keep track of every single purchase would defeat the purpose of the magic band.

I do use the magic band when it makes sense at the time. However the gift cards are not hard to use, they circle your balance with the card and I just wrap the receipt around that card an place it back in my wallet. I know I am not being charged for anything I did not purchase.

The added bonus of the gift card is the savings having purchased at a discount.

I used my magic bands for meals and one gift card for purchases on my last on site trip.

I would stop by the front desk every couple of days when they weren't and use a gift card (or two) to pay off my meals.

It worked well but I only had 6 gift cards to use and wasn't buying much. I tried to have the gift cards put on my account when I checked in since I knew I'd use the money all up but was told they couldn't do that. I found out later that if I'd asked for a manager, they could have done it.

I was glad I had cash one day in Epcot because I stopped by a food cart to get something and the system was down so they couldn't accept any type of payment other than cash. So you may want to have some cash with you in the parks too.

Oh! Great point. This kind of thing always happens to me. I think we will carry a little cash as backup.
