Best way to hop from AK to Epcot?

My brother and his new wife will be honeymooning in the World starting Monday. They're staying at POFQ and will not have a car.

DH and I were there last year, stayed at POFQ, and didn't have a car. We used resort busses.

A lot can change in a year, so I want to make sure my info is accurate. :teeth:

They will be using resort busses and I need to figure out the best way for them to hop from AK to EPCOT. Did they implement park to park busses, or are they still going to need to take a bus to a resort and then transfer? What's the fastest/best way?

What resort is by the International Gateway? The Swan?

TIA!

My guess would be that the fastest way would be to take a bus to either the Boardwalk or the Beach Club. From either of those resorts, it's a five minute walk to the International Gateway entrance of Epcot.

I think its only resort to resort that's NOT done, park to park and park/resort in both directions are offered. Strangely, I got a total brain-freeze on this question but hasn't park to park always been offered? BTW, we've found hopping from AK, usually to Epcot in the early afternoon, to be noticeably slower than from other parks at the same time due to the volume of people leaving then. Maybe it's just our luck, but we've been held up on two trips so we drive to AK when we have a rental. I know, no help for your Bro and SIL, just an observation.

Yes, the park to park bus is the best bet.

With the bus to Boardwalk or Beach Club, then boat (or walk) to Epcot International Gateway a strong second.

We like to experiment by taking whichever bus shows up first (if we can get to it).
The U-shaped bus boarding area at AK (with loading on either side of the main driveway) doesn't always put you near the "alternate" bus. So most times, you've just got to "commit" to whichever route you want to try and choose that side of the loading zone.

We've taken the bus from AK to EPcot in the past. Another option would be to take the bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge (takes about 5 minutes) then the bus to Epcot (takes about 10-15 to get there).

A bit over a week ago I hopped from Epcot to the MK by monorail and Seven Seas Ferry, then leaving the MK I took a bus from MK to Beach Club. This was slow only because it took them about 15 mins to load someone's scooter(!!!!!). Otherwise it's a quick ride and I swear it only takes 5 mins to walk from Beach Club to the World Showcase entrance. The only downside is that the World Showcase entrance can take longer to enter--they have a lot less gates and security tables there.

I guess it would depend whether they want to go to FW or WS. If they want to go to Future World first then take the park to park bus. If they want to go to WS, I'd say take the BC/YC bus, because the walk from BC to International Gateway is much shorter than walking from FW entrance to WS.

I also agree with oogieboogie.....depends where in Epcot they're headed.
