Best way to get to Vero from BCV

We are staying at Vero after 10 days at BCV. We are wondering what is the best way to get there. We thought of renting a car but we do not know where to go to rent one. Is is easier to go to the airport and rent one from there or is there another place either on or off disney property. We want the best possible rates.
We are open to other suggestions on how to get to Vero other than renting a car if you know of any.

A few year's ago we rented a car right at WDW to drive to VB. (I think it was National). I recall a rep from the car company picking us up at Port Orleans and driving us to a location near MK.

Second suggestion is to take the shuttle / limo back to the airport and going to the rental desks there. I recall the price was comparable either way, though definitely easier getting the car at WDW.

My suggestions it to troll the internet. Maybe a firm still does this service.

Renting a car is the way to go. A car service to Vero would be the only other option and would be pretty pricey (running close to $200). You will also want to have a car once you get to Vero to get out and explore the area.

National used to have rental desks at the Dolphin and the Car Care Center by MK. Over on the Transportation Board I'm sure someone can give you details (if no one here has the info).

National is still at the Dolphin and the Car Care Center, along with sister company Alamo. You can rent at either of these locations and drop off the car at MCO when you complete your VB stay. Check the National web site at National Car Rental . Use Orlando as the pick-up location and you can then select from the list of available locations. Both the CCC and Dolphin will be listed, along with the airport for your return location.

Thanks for the help. I was able to get a good rate with alamo at WDW Dolphin, but we have had a change in plans and have decided to skip Vero and take the 7 day cruise instead.
