Best way to get to Port Canaveral..

From a Disney Resort with a larger group?

I've heard that with a group larger than 4 people it's often more economical to use an alternate transportation service. Does anyone have suggestions/experience with companies they would recommend?

Look up Happy Limo. They have shuttles for larger groups.

Private services are the best option for larger groups. Still thinking about going someday, but I have been to WDW before (stayed offsite) and went to the hotel and back to the airport in a private car.

We did a family cruise once and had 10 people plus luggage. We used Happy Limo and they had a luggage cart (it was all enclosed) that they pulled behind the 12 passenger van. It was quite comfortable. Splitting the cost, it was cheaper than Disney Transfers.

Oh and there were 2 car seats in the van also.

We rent a car from either Budget or Avis, depending on who has the best deal at the time. Make sure and look for discount codes (I use flyertalk). We have a family of 5 and usually had a minivan for about $100. With 2 people we got a car for about $40.

Enroll on their frequent renter program, then you bypass the counter and go directly to the parking garage. Its nice to have a car to drive around the night before the cruise, you can pick up any last minute supplies, go out to dinner,etc.

Both places have a shuttle, we have a lot of luggage and it was no problem because they have large vans now.

And right up at the top of the page as I read your thread there's a sponsored ad (they are Dis sponsors) for FLtours.com. We used them once and the driver was very good.

From experience I don't recommend a limo for a larger group; it fits the people just fine, but the trunk was smaller than our Grand Marquis' trunk (basically like a towncar's) and we had to have two carryons in the vehicle with us. And we're only 3 people. Go SUV instead and make sure the people you use have a pull-behind trailer if there are many of you with big bags.
