How far in advance are Cat 3s sold out? I'd love to have one for our tenth anniversary (end of April 2006), but don't know if one will be available. Thankss!

Good ?. I would like to know.

2006 is open for booking. If it's available, you can book it now. :)

Looks like the Cat 3's are all sold out on all cruises for April 06... booking has been open since last October for these...

We loved our Cat 3. There are a only a handful so they tend to book quickly. We booked ours 13 months ahead for our 2/3/05 cruise.

Good luck! You will love it. :earsgirl:

The Concierge suites book quickly. Usually 1-1/2 to 2 years in advance. The best way to book a Cat. 1, 2 or 3 is to fax a request to the Inventory Control Dept. (407-566-7739). You can ask for a specific stateroom. You can tell them if you prefer Main or Second Seating for dinner. The most important suggestion I can give you is be flexible with your cruising dates. HTH

Book the cruise early. If it is sold out when you try to book then waitlist. Wailisting usually works but it isn't a 100% guarantee, it depends on if people cancel. Hint--Cat. 3's midship by the elevators are the best ones to have because the murphy bed is in the main cabin not in the master bedroom. Kathy *I wish I was in the sunny Caribbean right now! I need some sunshine. :sunny:

It took me almost 1 + 1/2 years to book cat 1, so I would think you'd need to plan on 1 to 1 + 1/4 years ahead on cat 3.

I guess I might be an exception to the rule. Our first cruise was a 3 night for Memorial Day weekend 2004. I booked it just 3 months prior to the cruise and had my choice of six category 3 staterooms. Our second cruise I booked in mid July 2004, about 6 months prior to our cruise date. I was able to get a mid-ship category 3 without any problem. Maybe I was just lucky.

We booked in October (of 2004) for our trip which is this week (so that would be less than 4 months) and got a cat 3 no problem. It didn't even occur to me that it would be hard to get one, but we got 8534. Not sure if this is an undesirable room or something, but we really do not care at this point. We just want to get away from this cold snow!!

Either way, we were probably lucky, so you may want to book as soon as you can! Good luck

As you can see 8532 is our favorite cabin. You have the cabin right next to that. You should love it.

I called Saturday and booked a midship category 3, cabin 8534, for March 21, 2006 western itinerary and had a choice of several other cabins. We are doing a 3 day Wonder cruise on March 17th in a category 3 and booked that in October of '04. When we were on the Magic in July of '04, all category 3 cabins were already booked for the west coast cruises next summer. You never know.

When we cruised in Oct. 04, our party had 9 rooms including 2 cat 3s. We only booked 9 months in advance.

DVC lady- you mentioned you were on the Oct 07 waitlist for a Cat 3. How did you get on that list..are 2007 rates out yet? Any tips would be great! We really want a Cat 3 in 2007.

Try a different TA. AAA told me Cat 3s were sold out for the cruise I wanted. I went to Dreams Unlimited and got one, no problem. I am not sure if it was just good timing, or if certain TAs get to "hold" a few suites. (DU was great to work with, by the way...).

DVC Lady-
Thank you so much for the tip. I had no idea that you could do that before the rates were even out. So, you faxed in 10/04 for a 10/07 Cat 3. Geez....I was looking for a Cat 3 in Oct 2007 so I may be too late. I really appreicate this info. Thanks :)

Please don't laugh, roll your eyes, or sigh! What's the big deal with Cat. 3 rooms, are they the best on the ship? We finished our land & sea a few weeks ago, TA never stressed importance of picking a Cat. Please enlighten me? We just had an inside stateroom Deck 6. Hoping for a verandah if I can swing a 7 day western in 2007.Any suggestions?
