Best way to carry your smart phone in park

How do you carry your smart phone around the parks and still be able to use it without too much trouble? I'm looking for clever ways to carry my Iphone around in the park.
I really don't care for the belt clip cases (I don't wear belts and don't like to put the clip on waistband of pants because it rubs against my skin).
My iphone is a bit bulky to wear in my pocket plus might get damaged on rides. I could stick in a backpack but would be troublesome to get in and out.
So far my best thing I can come up with is a waterproof case on a lanyard, but might get heavy after a while.

Any clever ideas?

I use the clip for my iPhone, but it doesn't bother my skin - I tuck my shirt in...I don't know if that's applicable to your irritation or not. I've worn cargo pants and buttoned it in there because the phone fall out when I wear normal pocketed shorts. I've used a cross-body Vera Bradley bag, too, and stuck it in the outermost compartment. My husband has used the landyard for his Droid the last time and it did get heavy on him - but his phone is huge IMHO. I don't know if there's a perfect solution....try some options out and see how it goes? :confused3

Could you use the clip and attach it to the pocket? I just worry about it falling off and you might now realize it, especially going on rides....There are carriers that you can clip to your belt (not a belt person myself, but just throwing it out there for good measure).

Good luck!

you could get the armband they have for working out. Definitely bring a ziplock for any water rides. EVEN inside a waterproof case.

Mine is usually in a small backpack or if I'm wearing cargo capris it's in my leg pocket (w/zip lock bag). But I have to admit, I like your idea of waterproof case on a lanyard.

I have a flip case with a belt clip on the back. I don't attach it to a belt or waist I attach the belt clip to the metal loop on my WDW lanyard and wear it around my neck. The clip on the case I have is very sturdy, I wouldn't clip it on there if it was lesser quality. The flip top gives you easy access for a quick look at your phone and it's easy to take out if need be. I also like that the flip top acts as a screen protector. If I'm going on a thrill type ride I either take the lanyard off and put it in my backpack or just put it down the front of my shirt. It works great and I don't have to constantly worry about where my phone it because I just look down and there it is.

I would not do this if the belt clip wasn't very sturdy. I have seen some cheap plastic clips on some cases and I would worry that the clip would break. My clip is metal.

Honestly, I shove my Droid X2 into my pants pockets and it's never been hurt on a ride, at either WDW or Cedar Point.

This is my second smart phone, and I do not treat it like it's fragile crystal, and I've never broken a phone or scratched the screen or anything.

(I don't go on water rides, so I've never worried about having a plastic bag.)

I have a Motorola Razr, and on my last trip I fastened a camera loop to my hard case and carried it around that way. It was great! Of course, if it bothers you to carry things around like that it could be a problem, but I'm used to carrying my camera or phone while at the parks so it was perfect for me. When I was riding something, I just put it in my purse.

My husband has a case that slides onto his belt loop (no chance of losing it) with a magnetic flap. He wears it every single day to work, so it's habit for him. I bought some cargo shorts and pants before I left and even though I kept it in my backpack the first half of the trip, by the end I was just slipping it in the side pocket by my knee and I told myself I would wear cargos from now on!

If there's any way to attach it to a caribiner clip, you can attach the caribiner clip to anything...a belt loop, your purse handle...anything.

I've been carring my keys on a caribiner for years. I clip it on my purse strap...no lost keys or searching for them in the bottom of my bag!

I carry my iPhone (that's in an OtterBox case) in my pocket, and then put it in a ziploc bag in my bag while on a ride. DH has his iPhone in an OtterBox, and wears cargo shorts, and puts it in one of the pockets, and then in the ziploc bag when on a ride.

You could be totally awesome like me and wear a fanny pack some park days. ;)

All the teenage girls I know carry their phones in their bras, so there's always that option if you wear a bra. I cannot figure out how that can ever be comfortable though.

I don't know if your a man or woman but I keep my iphone in my bra. It stays put and there is a slim chance I won't notice someone trying to take or having it fall out. I refuse to carry a bag with me to the parks!

My friends do this. Unfortuantely for me, I don't have enough there to hold up a phone. :lmao: Seriously it'd fall right out.

Also re: ziploc bag, even if you don't plan on water rides, I highly recommend throwing a couple in your park bag. We got caught in a DOWNPOUR and my camera was almost ruined by a damp bag. Later that week, my son put a water bottle in our bag (and didn't close it properly) and it leaked and ruined my sister's iPod nano. I am putting all phones in a ziploc inside my bag when not in use at all times.

I stick it in my pants pocket and whip it out when I need it.

I usually wear Capri pants or jeans while in the park and I have an IPhone and just carry it in my pants pocket. Unless you have some new GIANT Iphone that none of us have, the IPhone is not that big and fits fine in pants pockets. I have never scratched or damaged a phone in my pocket. It is up against your body and unless something hard slammed into your pocket area (thus probably injuring you very badly) the phone is not going to be harmed.

If I wore shorts to the parks I probably wouldn't keep it in my pocket because the pockets are shallower in shorts and might slip up and out. If I were wearing shorts I would slip it in the front little zipper pocket on our backpack. (I carry a backpack full of drinks and snacks in all the parks)

I definitely wouldn't want it hanging around my neck. That would be annoying I would think.

For my BlackBerry Bold 9780 I have a case which I keep it in that I am also able to put inside the pockets of my shorts. I never had any problems with it going on any attractions, including ones that have water like Splash Mountain.

I carry my iPhone in my bag, I've had this particular bag for over a year and I'm in love with it! I haven't found a better option yet.
