We are heading to WDW June 6th after DH and DD/DSIL get off work. We have a 12 hr drive ahead of us, and Im not sure how far we will get before we need to stop and sleep. I usually book a room at a certain point out, but sometimes it is farther than we want to be (as in we are too tired and not there yet) or we feel like we could have driven farther.
At that point, though, it is too late to cancel.
I think I read somewhere that you could pull up priceline or places like that and book on the road. Is that an option, or do you think we would have better luck just stopping. I am always leary of what hotels will be like and if we will be charged crazy prices since it would be late and the hotel could tell from looking at us that we were desperate to get to a bed:lmao:
What do you guys recommend?
Is there a website that lists hotels along the route that you are driving?

I use the iExit app for iPhone (I think there's also an app for Andriods as well).

They lists lodging for each exit.

About an hour before you want to stop, we start calling hotels to check prices and book reservations.

Expedia (and I think others) have apps you can use. If you download Expedia's app, the first time you book a hotel you can use coupon code MOBILE25 to get $25 off a $100+ hotel stay.

Thanks for these suggestions. I will check into these apps.

I use that too and then I go online and book it that way. I tether the iPad to the phone so I can see what I am booking!

If you use that, link through ebates to expedia for some cash back, too.

Thanks! I just signed up for ebates the other day. Haven't even used it once, so hopefully it will be self explanatory :)

Pull up Google maps on your mobile phone and then you can see all the hotels coming up along your route. Each hotel has a hyperlink to their website where you can book a room. This is about as real time as you'll get.
