Best way from Studios to MK

Can someone please tell me the best/quickest way to get from the Studios to MK. We only have one night to see Fantasmic and Spectromagic. If fantasmic is at 6:30 P.M., is it possible to catch Spectro. at 8:00 P.M?

The easiest way to get to the Magic Kingdom from MGM Studios is by bus. Just walk out front to the bus stop marked MK, and hopefully catch the first bus. You're going to be pushing it time wise though. Fantasmic lasts almost 30 min. and you probably won't be able to fight your way up front until at least 7:15 pm. Let's say you have to wait 15 min. for the bus and the ride takes about 15 minutes. Then you have to walk through security into the MK along with thousands of other people, and make it before 8 pm. It can be done, but it doesn't sound very enjoyable!
Do they show SpectroMagic twice that night? If so, you can make it in time to catch the fireworks, and wait to see the 2nd SpectroMagic, which is usually not as crowded. Whatever you decide, good luck!

As the last post said just catch the bus at the front entrance to MK. They will drop you at the front gate of MK. If you have your own car, it may be quicker to drive yourself, just because you won't have to wait for the bus. There may be others doing the same thing, so no guarantee you will make the first bus.

Timewise, I don't see how you can make it in time.

Ok, we just were back from WDW and did a jump from the Studios to the MK. The bus did NOT drop us off in front of the MK, it dropped us off at the TTC. Not a big deal for us since we weren't in a time crunch, but if they do the same for you, it's another delay.

Oh, and don't believe the CM's if they say there is a bus from the MK(TTC or in front of MK) to DTD. We had one tell us that, went over to the TTC and there isn't one - only from the resorts.

The buses from MGM will only take you to TTC and from there you must take the ferry or the monorail to the Magic Kingdom.

If I were pressed for time, I would catch a resort bus at MGM going to The Contemporary. Then I would ride the monorail from the Contemporary to MK.

We had to wait for the bus to MK for at least 1/2 hour this past summer. I know that's just bad luck, but be prepared. It did seem like we saw several of the same resort busses come and go during our wait. I like the idea of going to the Contemporary and than monorail it over. You might ask a bus driver if they have more bus service right before Spectro though. We went in the middle of the day.

That was the only bad bus experience we had during our trip. We had great bus service to and from the Dolphin.

That may change. They may eventually start going directly to MK because I noticed on our trip last week that they were doing renovations on one of the bus depots in front of MK.

We've been so spoiled in the past with the S/D/YC/BC/BW bus being the very first bus stop in the depot closest to MK and of course when the bus swung around and parked much further away I was a little disappointed. Then I noticed we were in a different depot all together and they were doing work on the old depot.

I have a feeling once the other depot is complete there will be more room for buses coming from other parks to stop here instead.

seeing this thread prompted me to post this thread on the Transportation boards, where it's verified that the MGM --> MK bus does NOT go to the front gate of MK, but only goes to the TTC.

This is correct. Two weeks ago I went from MK to MGM and then back to MK. I had to depart from TTC and when I came back I arrived back at the TTC. I do hope they change it though. It makes park hopping take longer. I waited for the bus going to MGM for 20 minutes.
