Best way from Poly to Ft. Wilderness Wagon Ride?

I'm thinking about doing the wagon ride at 7pm in December after the Ohana dinner. What's the best way to get there from Poly and out? Should I go to Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge and take a boat? Or should I drive to the Ft. Wilderness and take a bus? Since we'll have little ones, we don't want to stay too late - want to leave right after the ride. And we are staying offsite. Any help is appreciated. :santa:

The quickest and easiest way would be to drive to FtW and take any internal bus to Settlement Hall. Otherwise if you're at the PR, you would need to take a Disney bus to either MK, Epcot or Downtown Disney, transfer to a FtW bus & once at FtW, transfer to an internal bus. That could take upwards of an hour to do. You could also take a boat launch from the PR to MK & then take boat launch to FtW. If you take the launch, double check to see if the boats are running late enough for the return trip. If the MK closes early that night, the boat launches to the MK close down 1 hour after the park closes.

Yikes, Deb. You missed the easiest and most enjoyable way to get there, IMHO. I would (and in fact, I just did this on my last visit) take the resort monorail to the Contemporary Resort, walk out back, and take the resort boat to the Fort. The boat takes you right to the Settlement area, which is where your wagon ride will begin. No buses required. Easy and pleasant!

YIKES is right!!! It was early & I didn't have a complete cup of coffee in me yet. No caffeine = no BRAINS!! Thank you!!

I agree that taking the boat is always the best way to arrive at the Fort since it helps you step away from the hustle and bustle of the parks (and the modern world, for that matter) and prepares you for a more relaxed pace of life.
