Best way from FW to each park?

Has anyone compiled everyone's favorite ways to get from FW to each of the parks? Do you generally take the buses or drive? Which loops are close enough to the lake to walk to the boat/bus depot on that side? For example, how long a walk from the 100 loop to the boat/bus depot (I mean the one on that side - I know there's another depot at the entrance that goes to other places).

Well MK is a no brainer! By boat!

After we were there for a week last year we began to see that it was almost easier to drive to AK, MGM and Epcot.

The first week we took the bus the entire time but the second week we drove some. AK seems very far from FW and by the time you take a bus to the outpost, wait for a bus and then ride it all the way there...it just seemed easier to just jump in the car a drive! I think it took over an hour to get to AK by bus (counting waiting and so forth).

I don't mind riding the bus though.

So here it is:
MK-boat
Epcot-bus/drive
AK-drive
MGM-bus/drive
TL & BB-bus/drive

mk - boat

epcot - drive if we are seriously going to hit the park or if we have to get there or get out of there quickly for a PS ressie or something. if we are just going over for a nice relaxing time killer we take the boat to MK or the Contemporary and take the monorail to epcot.

AK - drive

MGM - drive

We may at some point take the bus for some of these but with out latest addition and all the stuff that you have to drag along with a baby....it is just easier with the car.

If we were staying in the 100 loop and could walk to the boat or Settlement Depot, how about this?

MK - boat
Epcot - bus to TTC then monorail
MGM - bus
AK/DD/BB/TL - drive (since the bus is from Outpost Depot)

Or would driving be better for some of those?

As a resort guest, I know there is free parking at the 4 parks, but what about the 2 water parks?

Thanks!

MK - boat

Epcot - boat to Contemporary, then monorail

MGM,AK - drive

For EPCOT above, that means boat, monorail to TTC, monorail to Epcot. Is that shorter than bus to TTC and then monorail?

And driving to MGM is better than the bus to MGM?

Thanks!

May not be the shortest way to go to Epcot, but I like riding the monorail better than the bus. As far as MGM, I just like the idea of being able to leave when I feel like it, rather than waiting for the bus.

Thanks, ftwildernessguy. Yes, we waited a while at MGM for our bus when we wanted to leave. It would have been nice to have a car, especially when we wanted to go park-to-park.

So, do you bring that cute little dog with you camping? We have cats now, and I think they'll be happier at home (since they'd have to ride in the fiver - the pickup is already full of people). Someday I'll either have a MH and bring my cats, or maybe get another dog after the cats (and kids) are gone.

We always bring our beagle, Mickey. He likes FW almost as much as we do.

They give you a parking pass to put on your dash so you do not pay to park. We take the boat to MK because they drop you off at the front gate. We drive everywhere else. We like to do a lot of park hoping and it is just faster. Plus we keep a cooler in the car with drinks and snacks. We also like to hit a water park for a couple of hours in the afternoon. With the car we can easily bring all we need to do anything we want.

We follow the same guidelines as most of the above posters. We take the boat to MK but we drive everywhere else. We have just gotten too frustrated waiting around for the buses. Much easier to just hop in the vehicle and go.

Thanks all. Boat to MK and driving everywhere else sounds the most convenient.

Well, we don't usually have anything to drive so we use the buses everywhere. We enjoy leaving the driving to someone else, anyway, so it works for us. I do prefer driving to Typhoon Lagoon whenever possible, though. Otherwise we take a change of clothes so we don't have to ride wet.

We've been known to ride the boat and monorail to the parks, too--and it even works better coming back! If the FW boat is crowded we'll hop the resort monorail to the Contemporary and then catch the little boat to FW. You just can't do that too late.

We have an early reservation at Chef Mickey's (7 am). We're staying at the cabins. What's the best way there? I read above you can take a boat directly there? I doubt they're running that early, but is that right? We could drive, just don't know if I'd have to pay to park at the CR.
