Best Water Park?

What would be the best water park for DD12? She is an excellent swimmer, but has only been to a couple small local water parks. She's not typically a thrill seeker although on our recent cruise she did try zip lining, boogie boarding and surf boarding, so I think she's starting to get a bit more daring.

Also, how long do you usually spend at the water parks? Do people usually spend 1/2 day or all day?

We almost always do just a half day and have been to both water parks on most trips. DD's are 15,16 and 18. I would say they used to lean towards BB as their favorite but for this trip, they all said if they had to pick 1 it would be TL because they like the shark tank and Crush n Gusher and the body slides. They also love the wave pool but oh my, it really stresses me out with the big waves!

Both are great, but I really like Typhoon Lagoon for the above mentioned reasons. I loved the Shark and Stingray tank. But if you DD doesn't like snorkeling then go with BB. The tank was really the main reason I would pick TL over it anyways. They are both designed well and share similar features. However it looks like you are from NH, if you are having even half the amount of snow we have been getting pelted with in NY, you won't even want to think about a place called Blizzard Beach lol!!

BB is much better overall, but TL has 3 very good features:

Crushin Gusher (water coaster)
Shark Reef (snorkeling)
The wave pool (Which honestly, we tired of VERY quickly)

The rest of TL is sub par though. I have a pretty extensive review in the link in my signature I you're interested. Obviously my opinion.

My 11 year old dd and 9 year old ds VASTLY prefer BB to TL. We visit WDW for 10-11 days at a time and we always do 2 days at BB and one day at TL. This year we're only do a 1/2 day at TL, then heading to DQ for the afternoon.

We can't totally give up TL because of the sharks and the coaster.

Both of the water parks are great. I think Typhoon Lagoon is a more relaxing atmosphere and Blizzard Beach has more thrill rides. I'd give the edge to Typhoon Lagoon though, because I love the Crush n Gusher!

Maybe you could do a 1/2 day at each?

Opinions vary so much. We really enjoyed TL much more than BB. We loved the shark/sting ray snorkeling experience Crush N Gusher, and spent a lot of time in the wave pool.

If your DD is really into surfing, there is even a surf school she can do in the morning before TL opens and get surf lessons in the wave pool.
