Does anyone have any comfy flip flop sandals? I've tried a variety of flip flops looking for comfy ones, but I haven't found anything yet. I have a pair of Sketchers flip flops, but they kill my arches. I hear everyone raving about Teva sandals, but I don't really like those kind of sandals--the water sandal style. Can anyone help a flip flop lover????

Krista

I recently ordered three pair of tevas from zappos.com (Pretty Rugged Leather, Olowahu, and Elixer ll). The pretty rugged leather sandals were comfortable from the moment I put them on. The Olowahu flip flops were also comfortable and I am not a flip flop person. The Elixer flip flops I knew immediately I was going to send back, because the foot bed was too hard. I wore the Olowahu's around the house for two days trying to decide if I was willing to pay $27.00 for a pair of flip flops. They were just soooo comfortable and cute, I had to keep them. As I said, I am not a flip flop person, but Teva Olowahu's are great. I've been wearing them for the last week to walk my dog everyday, but they were comfortable from the first time I put them on. They are flip flops, but have an extra Y across the top that makes them feel more secure than regular flip flops. The little toe piece is turned kinda sideways, so it doesn't hurt your toe. The very bottom is hard, but has this soft squishy part on top that touches and cradles your foot. The toe piece and the straps across the top are all a very soft cloth. They even have a little arch support which is nice. I've been wearing them around on different surfaces for about a week and my feet love them. FYI-the prices on zappo includes tax and free shipping.

When I go to WDW in May, I'll be taking three pair of Tevas: Pretty Rugged Leather Sandals, Olowahu flip flops, and a pair of Teva tennis shoes.

Thanks for all the info on flip flops, I checked out Teva's website and Merrell's website, I found 3 pairs that I really like, now comes the hard part--deciding which ones to get. :cool1:

1. Whatever you do, try them on and walk around!! I was certain that Tevas were the way to go. Them I tried them on and darned if the straps don't hit my foot at a funny place! I ended up with Nike Deschutz sandals. They are waterproof, have velcro straps that adjust when your feet start to swell and they have Nike soles so it's like wearing sneakers.

2. Land's End is coming out with a flip flop that looks like it may have substantial soles for walking. They haven't hit the Sears store nearest me yet, but I plan to give them a try. I'm a bit apprehensive after my bad-ish experience with their mesh sneakers (no arch support!), but I'm willing to give them a try.

Let us know what you decide on! --H

I got a pair of Mephisto Allrounders from zappos.com - They're *so* comfortable.

Last month when I was at WDW I wore the sandals all day. Then, before I had dinner at Narcoossee's I changed into deck shoes. My gosh did my feet hurt! I never realized how much padding those sandals really provide. They're great for those that get blisters, too.
