We are going to try to rent points for a villa for 2 nights after our 1 week in a pool home. I'm thinking we will just use this time to relax, hang out at the resort, recover from a week at Disney with all the inlaws. Which would you recommend for us and two boys 3 and 5, March 5th and 6th? Thanks!

The Villas at Wilderness Lodge is very relaxing. Great lobby at the main lodge for relaxing (rocking chairs, fireplaces, etc.). Also, the smaller lobby in the villas is nice. Check out the train on display from the Disney family (it used to be in Disney's backyard and he rode around on it with his kids).

They have story time for the kids in their PJ's in the Mercantile on certain nights in front of the fireplace. They have rubber duck races for the kids over the waterfalls. You can also check out games to play from the mercantile. The Villa's lobby has oak tables to play family games on (3 tables). The front desk in the main lodge will give you hidden mickey hunt sheet to go find the hidden mickey's scattered throughout the lodge. There are also scheduled activities at the pool for the kids.

Nightly on Bay Lake there is a water parade that performs for the Magic Kingdom resorts. The last time we were there it came around 9:30 in the evening. Your kids would enjoy that. If there is lightning, they cancel it, though.

If you want to go over to Fort Wilderness, they have outdoor movies and s'mores nightly depending on the weather.

For a good website try the site "tagrel." Do a search on yahoo and it should come up. It has virtual tours of of the DVC resorts. Also check out ourlaughingplace.com and do a search under hotels for Wilderness Lodge. They have some good photos of the main lodge.

I would think any of them could be great!!

VWL is like being in it's own little world (the above poster was right)

BCV has the BEST pool....great to just hang out all day!!

BCV has lots to do on the BW

OKW is a relaxing place to "get away from it all"

SSR has a spa and really close access to DTD

I think it depends on what you are looking for?!!!

If you want to people watch, nothing better than a boardwalk view at BWV's. Combine that with nightly firework viewing from your balcony, glorious.

We bought BWV because it was so convenient to the parks. We bought VWL because we felt we could stay there and not go to the parks.

If the weather isn't great, you'd come to appreciate the larger rooms at OKW.

I'd be tempted to go to VB - no chance of the parks.

Villas at wilderness lodge.
Your boys will love it.

I recently had a 3 day "hang out at the resort" trip. I stayed at BWV, but that was only because my BCV waitlist didn't come thru. I'd recommend BCV, not only for the pool, but if you want to stay in and read, BCV has more places (such as the Solarium). And to me, there's no place like the Beach Club Marketplace for sitting, having a gelato, and resting a while. Then, if you'd rather, Beaches and Cream is right there!

Vero, hands down. We spent five nights there and it was great! Lots of relaxing by the pool and conversing with other DVCer's while the kids frolic in the pool. We had a great time and the beach and pool were great! We even went fishing in the pond across the street and my son caught his first bass! Only two hours from MCO by car. Have fun deciding.

OKW for the family to enjoy a laid back restful venue with on site restaurant, pools, boats and the like.

BCV for SAB and Beaches and Cream for the boys.

VWL for the parents -- great theme and worth the time to explore the resort for the interesting architecture and artifacts.

VB if you want a quick getaway to the beach with nice pool, miniature golf, on/off site restaurants.

And since you are using cash to rent points another cash option if you want off Disney property but in Orlando try Cypress Harbour for a resort comparable to OKW.
