DCL will tell you that you’re not suppose to be on your balcony during the fireworks show for safety reasons, but they’re mainly viewable on the starboard side.

We were on the Fantasy, 8630 and 8632. DH decided to ignore the DCL warning to stay off the balcony during the fireworks ( >:( ). He said he had a good vantage point of them... for the most part. The fireworks are shot off very close to the ship so they will be more above the ship than to the side. So, while they are a safe distance away from the ship, the angle of viewing from a balcony is limited. DH could not see the fireworks in all their glory, just some of it. That was fine for him, but the kids and I went to deck 12 to see them.

I have been in 8610 on the fantasy 3 times and the first 2 times we watched from the balcony and had a good view but as Figment said the angle makes it tough to fully appreciate them and the 3rd time we went up to deck 12 and will go up there from now on to view them.

Bingo. And if you get the letter and go out anyway and something falls back and hurts you, you'll really not have a leg to stand on because you were warned.

Not all staterooms get the letter asking you to stay off the veranda. We had rooms 6568-6572 and did not receive it. Some of us went up on deck and watched and some of our group watched from the veranda. They were able to see them pretty well

We didn’t get the letter on our cruise on the Wonder. We had room 7594, which is the most forward of the aft section, starboard side. Our view was great. I went and stood and watched and they felt like they were right in front of us.

Oh wow!! We’re taking our first Disney Cruise next week and that’s our cabin number!! Did you like the room?

Thanks for sharing the question. I find it interesting in what some people value for a room. A 7 minute fireworks show was never really something I thought about. I hope you get a room you love!

We absolutely loved it. I’m not sure the next one can compare, lol. Deck 7 was perfect, a couple flights up or down to wherever we wanted to go. I loved being near the aft elevators, they were easier to get than midship and came out on deck 9 right at cabanas. As I mentioned above we had a great view for the fireworks, and didn’t have any problems with motion or noise.
