Looking for opinions on best restaurant value if the Candlelight Processional runs this year. We had booked our first Christmas trip ever in 17 years as a DVC member and then Covid happened. So barring WDW not running Very Merry and Candlelight we still plan on attending. Opinions?
I personally think it depends on your food preferences. Also, perhaps looking at lunch would be a good idea nad before that. We loved the feel of the Biergarten last year. We have also done a Garden Grill lunch once too.
Lunch - Biergarten. A CP package got us to try Biergarten for the 1st time a few years ago and we've been several times since.
Actually the difference between lunch and dinner has gotten to be less but for many places it's still a little less.
We always like to do a character breakfast so we did the Garden Grill CP package. Usually wind up skipping lunch so all in all a pretty good way to go.
In the past we have have dinner at chefs de France , Biergarten, tuttio Italia, and rose and crown. We thought Chefs de France was great with the fixed menu with rose and crown second.
I would go with lunch. We did dinner CP package at R&C and almost missed the show b/c they took too long. We had to leave without dessert and just barely made it.
We are pretty much open to food choices except for Germany Biergarten. Just not our thing. For some bizarre reason the only restaurants we have never been to is Chefs de France and Chef Paul’s. Chefs de France seems To be pretty fair in price for dinner package vs regular meal. And yeah not sure what this year will bring but am hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Not telling the kiddo that we are going for her 13th birthday just in case.
The Biergarten is as much a part of “Candlelight” for my holidays ... and probably my grandchildren’s also.
Does any other dining package offer a stage show performance decorated for the holidays at Epcot?
Breakfast at Ale & Compass was my favorite CP package for sure! I think it’s one of the best values as well. They have large portions, plus buffet items, and all is yummy food. However, 2 years ago I was able to get a smoothie & press pot coffee included in the CP price, but last year they wouldn’t give me either! That was a major loss in value to me.
We very much enjoyed the food at Chef de France when we attended the CP. However, it was very crowded and we felt like we were right in the middle of the crowd. Not a relaxing meal at all. I would request a table beside a wall area if you choose Chefs. I hope things may be getting back to normal by Christmas. Fingers crossed for a vaccine by then.
